That is one metalic pad... Looks pretty good in my opinion.

The TX-1000/2000 were pretty good, hopefully this one will be better.

Looks cool but the buttions are not lowered like the arcade and there is no warrenty at all.. It could be a piece of crap that looks cool, from a distace, in a small picture, and you just waisted $220+ because some random guy trying to sell it gave you a bunch of bs.

(the pad doesn't really look that great)

      Less expensive: http://shop.store.yahoo.com/hartsunl...earpadfor.html

I think I would rather have a less expensive, higher maitenance, ugly pad than that one. It does look very cool though...

I would rather have the buttons lowered than one flat metal pad. It makes it easier to tell where your feet are, and if they're actually hitting the arrows. That's what I've always hated about my foam pads... You can't feel exactly where the arrows are.

Something like this would hurt my feet GREATLY since it's made of METAL and the arrows don't go down when you step on them. I'd kill myself :P

This is a no go for me =\

Afterburner from what I hear is the best.

From an exact quote of what CStar says, "It is 1000000000x better than Cobalt Flux".

I want to know how the Afterburner compares to the Tournament metal pad. The tournament pad is freakin' sweet and really sturdy (can take 500lbs.) but the weight limit of the afterburner was never made clear.

I have a pad with foam inserts, with raised arrows, never slip, register everything, 2 for 45 dollars, had them for 6 months no problems. Though it throws me off when I use the lowered metal pads in the arcade.

                  COBALT PADS

Those pads do look sweet, although I have seen a lot of pads, foam, metal wood, etc. They all start working less then perfect at some point.

I have had my cobalt flux's for over a year now and still havent been able to complain once about my pads. I used to play on them daily, though I wasnt the best player in ddr, I was good, so missing one arrow would make me mad. That never happened.

Too boot, I am a youth leader at my church and I keep my pads there now to let all the kids stomp on them all day long for special functions tournaments and every wednesday before service. Still they perform as good as the day I took them out of the box they were shipped in.

You know what they say.... "If you are going to do it, do it right!"
                  Nothing beats cobalt. Nothing!
