You can register early by emailing me at rpressler@jeffstateonline.com, or sign up on the sign up sheets at the Galleria. Registration only involves your name, and no payments are due untill the day of the tournament. $5 for early registration and $7 for day-of tournament registration ($10 for singles AND doubles tournament), so go ahead and sign up now! I have had requests to be able to make payments early. You can if you want to, just find me in the galleria. I am up there just about every day between 2pm-6pm. (grateful dead tattoo on my right forearm to those of you that dont know me). Keep in mind this is only optional. You do not have to pay untill the tournament day, and as long as you give me your name in advance it will only be $5.
DOUBLES TOURNAMENT:
Each player gets to one non-stop course on heavy. The course has to be either Player's Best, Player's Worst, or random all. The winner will be determined by the highest score.
MODS ALLOWED : Any speed mod, Any arrow change mod (left, right, shuffle, reverse), solo.
SINGLES TOURNAMENT:
There will be a 3 song qualifier set (subject to change depending upon how many poeple sign up) choosen at random the day of the tournament (1 standard, 2 easy heavys). Everyone will be seeded according to the total number of perfects from all 3 songs, with the top 50% of the people going to the heavy tournament, and the bottom 50% going to the standard tournament. In each tournament the brackets will be seeded. If you are in the bottom 50% you can move up to the heavy tournament if you want, but not the other way around.
Both of the tournaments are SEEDED DOUBLE ELIMINATION brackets. (you compete for 1st and 2nd, but if you lose you go to the consolation bracket where you compete for 3rd and 4th). IF the 3rd or 4th place winner never lost to the 1st or 2nd place winner, he can challenge the highest placing winner that he didn't lose to for his position.
The top seeded player gets to choose either who picks a song first, or what side of the machine he wants. The first player chooses a song and the winner of that song is determined by the number of perfects Then the 2nd player chooses a song and the winner of that song is determined. Finnally, the third song (only if needed) will be choosen by the machines random. The winner of the match is determined by the best 2 of 3 songs. In the event of a tie on the third song, the winner will be chosen by the total number of perfects form all 3 songs. If that is still a tie, we go to greats, then goods, and so on. The finals matches (for 1st and 2nd, or 3rd and 4th) will be best 3 of 5.
MODS ALLOWED : Any speed mod, Any arrow pattern change mod (ie: left, right, shuffle, reverse), solo ONLY if both player agree.
NOTES:
Any one trying to distract their opponent will be disqualified. Also, if you are not present when your name is called for a match then you forfeit the match. SO PAY ATTENTION!
Also I am looking for help judging and running the tournament. If you are interested, or have any suggestions for the tournament please email me at rpressler@jeffstateonline.com. Thank you and good luck!
Please keep in mind that some things may have to be cut down to allow for time. I hope you will all let me know in advance around how many of you will be comming, so that i can figure out the time factor a little better. I will keep you posted on any changes.
