You know, the one that goes onto the highscores list. Here's how. Basically, what the existing scoring sytem does is as follows:
550 for each perfect
275 per good
55 for an average step
-310 for a miss
-5 for a boo (there is no post-song penalty for boos)
This was a result of consulting the FFR FAQ and some basic arithmetic manipulation. What it does is it takes the ingame score, adds certain bonuses to it, then adds 1000 points for each step in the max combo.
My idea starts with some code layout. Initialize Combo and maxCombo at 0. When Combo exceeds maxCombo, set maxCombo to Combo and add an extra 1000 points to whatever the score for that step was. When there is a miss, clear combo to 0 but keep the current value of maxCombo.
As you can determine for yourself, this does indeed end up adding the proper combo bonus. Now, if I'm right about this feature already existing in the multiplayer mode, don't flame me. I'm talking about replacing the current ingame score indicator with what's really going on. As you can figure out, if the first step in a song reads "Perfect!", then the score would read 1550 (1000 for max combo increase+550 for a perfect) instead of 50.
Blame a Cherry Coke-fueled brainstorm for this concept, in case you were wondering who or what was responsible.
