How do you add mines in the *new* versions of SM?

How do you add mines in the *new* versions of SM?

In the newer versions (I havd 3.9 rc2), the help menu says hold shift and a number for mines, but instead it tries to insert an attack (for ITG Marathons). Grrrr... I want mines

Edit: ohhhh, you use LEFT shift for mines. Probably my left-handedness that got me on that one
