    ANN's "Anime Year in Review"

Part I of II is out right now and available for reading.

Anime News Network takes a look at 2004 // Anime News Network's 2004 Year in Review 2004 Year in Review - Opening Editorial by George Phillips Part I...

Pretty nice summary of the year, even though the major focus is on FMA. The author manages to capture the consensus of all anime fans in his words, which is why this article is so appealing to all anime fans.

The anime encyclopedia on that site is awesome.

However, everything else on Anime News Network is completely worthless, including that article. It fails to mention what have been huge hits on both sides of the Pacific (aside from Full Metal Alchemist), and instead just blabbers on about completely random series.

        Things to mention.

On the other hand, Inu-Yasha demonstrated how not to finish an anime, disappointing those who were following this series all the way to the end.
How true it is. I deleted all 167 once I saw that last episode.

The start of the year saw the second half of the visually sumptuous Chrno (or Chrono) Crusade, with an ending that left many viewers depressed.
Why do writers think having an ending like that works? It only leaves people disappointed that there is no future for the series.

More conventional fare showed up later on as Bleach debuted in October with a surefire formula: supernatural elements, feisty teenagers and a really big sword.
