    No Love for Books?

If you are going to have a forum like this, you could at least include books.

I, for one, have been wanting a book forum for a while, and I thought I might get my wish when Squeek(or Kilga, not sure who) made a suggestion about a Anime/TV/Movie forum. A couple members, including myself, thought that books should be added to the forum.

Anyway, post here if you would like books to be added to this forum.

    RE: No Love for Books?

    Agreed.

I also suggest that this forum should be entitled "Media" or something like that. And then the description could be "Post about TV shows, Movies, Books, Anime, or any other types of Media. Even though books aren't really media, but oh well. :P

IF YOU ARE THE BOMB YOU WILL CLICK THIS and if you dont, you suck.

      RE: No Love for Books?

I don't see why books can't be discussed in this forum. This forum includes anime right? So chances are that people are going to start talking about manga aswell.
Ananana: Girls are so complicated. That\'s why I\'m not a lesbian.
      Anuj: Marry me Karen XD

        RE: No Love for Books?

It's fine to talk about books here, but I doubt it will be added to the offical title, just because I doubt there will be as many topics about it.

I have love for books, and think this forum should, too.

              Books I really enjoyed:
Gone with the Wind (Read it, NOW)
              Watership Down
              Zero
In Search of Schrödinger's Cat (If you have any interest in quantum physics)
              A Brief History of Time
              Shadows

No desire to ever read GwtW. Ugh.
Watership Down, read it in like 6th grade. Don't remember much about it past rabbits trying to find their way home.
                Don't know Zero.
You asked me about Schrodinger's Cat on AIM... and, I'm much more into Astrophysics than quantum.
Hawkings books don't interest me that much, although everyone and their mother has read Brief History of Time.
                Don't know Shadows.

I'm much more into action/badass books... If anyone is interested in excellent novels that focus around strong toughguys that kick lots of ass and kill people:

Lee Child (character: Jack reacher, ex-Major of the Army's MP Corps). Read: Killing Floor. about 8 written now, 1 a year.
Dennis Lehane, pre-Clint Eastwood. (character: Patrick Kenzie, PI) Read: Whichever was written first, they go in chronological order. 5-6 total. no more being written.

There are plenty more authors that I've read 1-2 books by, but those 2 I've read EVERY book they've written. Also excellent books/authors in the military/asskicking genre: Tom Clancy's Without Remorse followed by Rainbow Six, Robert Ludlum's Bourne trilogy, Sigma Protocol, and Prometheus Deception (although beware, his books are all very similar.). I could go on...
                RIP

As my beloved failed to mention, there are a LOT of good books in the sci-fi genre (even ones that he likes and reads!) and the fantasy stuff.

Robert Heinlein, ANYTHING he's ever written. I highly recommend The Number of the Beast.
Terry Pratchett's Discworld series (and Good Omens which he co-wrote with Neil Gaiman)
Piers Anthony's Apprentice Adept series (also Xanth, but that one is full of puns and getting slowly worse with each new book)
Tamora Pierce's four or five series, four books each
Sharon Green's Blending and Blending Enthroned series
Douglas Adams, The Hitch-Hiker's Guide to the Galaxy (a trilogy in 5 parts)
Isaac Asimov, Robot series (and Foundation, according to Tass, is very good)
Nina Kiriki Hoffman, short stories and a couple of books
Esther Friesner, anything! although most of it is out of print
                  Gregory Maguire's Wicked
also Tanith Lee, Mercedes Lackey, Patricia C. Wrede, Jody Lynn Nye, Orson Scott Card, and a lot more I can't even think of right now.

Comic books to be aware of and how absolutely awesome they are:
                  Neil Gaiman's Sandman series
                  Bill Willingham's Fables
                  Goddess of Chocolate Sauce
First ever graduate of the Quetzacoatino Academy for Aspiring Deities
                  My lame LJ
                  My friend Cassie's amazing photography

Y'know, whorli, I've started Good Omens twice but have yet to get past the first fifty pages. It was decently funny from the beginning, but my heart just wasn't in it. I'm sure I'll get through the whole thing sometime.

I'm pretty big into Dark Fantasy, so I recommend anything from Richard Knaak. He wrote two of the Diablo books, and they are EXCELLENT. But if you're not into the game or that style of writing, you may find yourself confused or uncaring.

I'm currently reading: 9/11 Commishion Report. The one that was finished and published and finally released to the public. It's a light read at 500 pages of fine print.

I've also got America the Book (hilarious), and some Bill Cosby comedy stylin's I've yet to finish/start.
