I got it the day it came out. Heh, I'm a huge Paper Mario fan. The guy didn't even take it out of the box yet. It's a great game and it has plenty of stuff to do once you have finished it. (Ie: Trouble Center, Pit of 100 trials, etc..)
MM - Almost finished with Trouble Center; gotten about 60 levels into the Pit of 100 Trials. I would have gone further, but I really wanted to play Tales again.
Didn't want to make a new thread, so I'm bumping this one. Any objections? Didn't think so.
I finally got around to finishing this game. It was a great game. The ending is a little transparent, but hey, that's every Mario game (you expected Peach to die and Mario to cry for the rest of his life?).
So, I'm looking around other sites for information on what I can do after the game is over and all I see is "OMG TEH LAST BOS IS SOOO HARD HWO DO I WIN?!?!"
I stare in confusion. Then I continue reading.
"ur only level 27 u need 2 b at lest 30 or 33 i did it at 35 and it wuz stil hard"
Then I continue staring in confusion and reading further.
"i had only 57 hp left when i beat her"
...
*Glances at stats*
30 hp, 30 fp, 51bp. Level 26.
So, people can't even beat this boss at level 30?! What is wrong with these people?! Do they not know how to play RPGs? Whenever you get an option for BP or something similar, you take it. This is obvious. In the end I had +4 attack on Mario and +3 on the partner because I used super-expensive badges that upped attack power. I also had in the partner-switching move that lets you switch and attack in the same turn - the most useful thing EVER.
Oh, and the best part about my experience with the boss. I DID manage a BINGO! for HP when Mario was at 23/30 and the audience was at 140. So useless. A few turns later, I got the friggin POISON BINGO. Emptied my audience, dropped my Star Points, HP, and FP by half, and I STILL WON.
Ugh. I'm disappointed in people that play RPGs and suck at them so much. I wouldn't even be level 26 if I didn't powerlevel in the Pit of 100 Trials at level 15. I could've easily won at level 25 or less.
Oh, and finding out what the super-secret treasure that was behind the door ruled. No spoilers coming from me though.
My little brother bought it a month or two ago and still hasn't beat it. He's had me help him in parts he can't get by, though. From what I've seen, it's a lot like Paper Mario 64 or Super Mario RPG (so I like it). I'll probably play it myself after I'm done beating KOTOR 2 as a dark jedi. That game is fun.
