Yea, so some of you may or may not know, that I'm a DJ. Like, a real one.
Anyways, tonight I was going to DJ this party for Amherst Youth Hockey, they were having a party for a tournament, and there was gonna be pizza, chicken wings, and an open skate.
So I get there at about 5:35 and it's already got about 40 people in there, so i'm kinda rushing to set up my stuff, usually people aren't there that early.
So I get going just at 6:00, and there had to be about 250 people in 2 rooms, designed for 150 people.
I was kinda freaking out, about what type of music I was going to play, because I mean I had 6 year olds who liked all this goo goo gah gah stuff, then these 10 year olds who all like gay stuff like Averal Levien (SP but who really cares) and N SYNC. Then we got all these 13 year olds who think they are black, and want all this rap stuff. Then we got all these 15 year olds who want Metallica and stuff like that. Then we got the adults, who don't want to even hear the rap crap, and want old timers music.
I got through fine for 45 minutes, playing some lighter pop stuff, noone seemed to mind.
THEN
I made the annoucment, that the open skate was going to start in 10 minutes, and locker rooms 2 and 6 are open for people too use.
HOLY CRAP every single person left the rooms. There were only about 20 people left after I made that annoucement. It was sooooooooooo sweet.
All that were left were a bunch of adults, who weren't even paying attention to the music, so I threw on some old CD, and let it play.
I talked with people, for 3 hours, while CD's randomly played, and I got paid for it
I love when that happens, AND, I was over paid for the night.
What an awesome job expirenece.
