rRootage is probably the most addicting vertical-shooter game ever!!!
Since the game is kind of confusing, here are some instructions.
You are a ship in cyber space that is battling a wierd yellow resurrecting ship that shoots out a lot of projectiles. If the center of your ship touches one of the projectiles, then you lose a life. When the thing runs out of HP (represented as a HP bar on the top of the screen), it breaks down and reforms.
The buttons used in this game are Z, X, and the arrow keys
Z is the primary weapon, while X does a special move.
The game also comes in four modes:
Normal: X launches the two-three second shield. When you use the primary weapon, your ship slows.
Psy: Your ship goes the slowest in this mode. When you graze a projectile with your ship or shoot the enemy with the primary weapon, a bar at the bottom fills. When that bar fills, you gain temporary invincibility. Also, holding X causes your ship to spin. Spinning makes your ship go even slower, but fills up the bar more when you graze a projectile, and when you release X, the ship moves really fast temporarily.
Ika: Your ship has two modes: red and white. They are togglable with X. When you touch a projectile of the same color, it reflects and hits the enemy.
GW: Holding down the X button until the bar at the bottom of the screen empties creates a reflector shield that reflects all projectiles within a range for a four to five seconds, then it recharges automatically.
I really love this game. I play it whenever my fingers get tired from playing FFR.

I have recently found this other game made by the same guy of rRootage. It's called noiz2sa. The game is kind of like rRootage's sibling. Other than having a white background instead of a black background, the game has a lot of differences. For instance, its game structure follows a more classic approach, instead of fighting one regenerating enemy, you fight many small enemies and finally get to the boss. You also have to collect these green "crystals" to get more points and earn extra lives.
The Z button is still the main shooter. However, the X button's only purpose in this game is to slow the ship down for dodging projectiles, since the ship moves insanely fast even while holding down Z.
It's a lot more abstract than rRootage. The graphics are delightfully simple, giving it a retro feel to it and prevents slowdown on older computers. Also, the enemies are colored squares with squares around them showing their HP. The boss is also a giant square, just that there are so many that it starts out looking like a circle.
Even though this game has only has ten regular levels, it additionally comes with four difficulties of endless mode, which make the game even more addicting.

horizontal-shooter game
Tumiki Fighters is a game where you control a "toy" helicopter. You scavange for pieces that fall off of destroyed enemies, which can either offer protection or be used for special attacks. If a scavanged part is shot at, it is destroyed and falls off, but keeps you unharmed.
The fire button of this game is Z. Holding X will hide the scavanged parts so they won't be destroyed by enemy fire.

Think of this game as snake. You move around a closed area trying to collect the gold that appears on the screen. You have to avoid enemy ships. Press Z or X to use turbo. Using turbo while collecting gold powers up a guage on the bottom. When the guage fills, it makes your ship burning hot and fatal to enemies who touch you. You have to do all this within a time limit.

This is going to be the last game.
Wok is unlike the rest. In this game, you have to take these red, yello, and blue things into a basket controled by your mouse and hurl them at the yellow side on the right. If any of them touch the bottom, GAME OVER. Sometimes something appears and drops more of these things.
