I press the keys fast enough, comp beeps and I get a 2secLag

Had to compromise the topic title =s

Anyways, I know this probably isn't a FFR bug, but it's like a problem, I can't play the harder matches like for FFR because if I press keys fast enough, my comp will beep and lag, however my previous 5 dollar keyboard never had this problem, and this 50 dollar keyboard has it, its a logitech keyboard, is there any way to fix this?

EDIT: It looks like if I press 3 keys near the same time, it freezes, so like on 1 arrow close to a double arrow, it freezes as I hit them too fast...

Low score but a lot of games because I keep trying to AA/AAA songs and quit when the goal is no longer possible :P

      The solution: Turn off numlock.

Give that a try and tell us if it solves the problem.

Does anyone even know why turning off numlock works?

It works for me, but I still get some occasional beeps when things get fast.

At first I was thinking you were assuming I used the numpad to play FFR, but I tried it, and it worked! Thanks so much, heh, now I can actually try harder songs than keep on FCing breaking the common lol

and to Afrobean, I'm not exactly sure why it works, but I know it changes the format or something on the numpad, and I have it on when I play warcraft3 so I can use the items on my heroes very fast when they are close to death, hehe.

It works because it doesn't force your keyboard to listen for 17 more keys. So when you disable it, you're saving keyboard processes and it allows the four arrows keys to be hit all at once.

I get beeps now and then but NumLock being off is great.

I think that this is only partially true. I think it does use less processing power, but it wont allow you to press 4 keys at once. As far as I know, only wireless keyboards can do that, and still it's not perfect. I have a wired and wireless on my computer, so I would know. Don't ask why or how I can use 2 keyboards and mouses.

Get a black Dell keyboard. It's the kind that I use, and I've had no problems with it at all when it comes to FFR and Stepmania.

If it's a USB keyboard you can go to the control panel and load up the configuration menu for the keyboard. If it's USB you can change the maximum number of keys aloud pressed at once.

Edit: My post is kind of late, but this is a fairly common fix also.

I use a 10 dollar cheap ass keyboard that even came with a mouse, and it works good enough. I stil have my 70 dollar wireless keyboard up too though. It's fun.
