What is the best method of playing these games? I currenty play one handed for all of my FFR and SM songs, and have since I started, but now I'm starting to use just my two index fingers so that I can finally do a song like Eggmans Quasar. I think that method works best. I just have to get used to it and build better timing all over again. What's your method and opinon?

What's the best way to play SM and FFR?

Sry, but I I haven't used the FFR Forums in a long time. I think I saw like 1 thread asking how they play, but I'm asking what's the best method.\"Darkness is only the absence of light. It\'s always darkest, just before dawn.\"Comment

2 handed, four finger play will get you the highest scores. There is no question to this.
However, you would probably be suprised just what one hand is capable of. Eggman's Quasar, for instance, has been beaten on 1.5x music speed with one hand.
Originally posted by seinnoand also thank you everone for clearing it up for me I will try to start using my two hands iv tried quit a bit i put my left hand index and middle finger middle finger is on the up arrow index on on left arrow and right hand i use my index for the down button and middle for the right button does that seem weird?Comment

Yea, pick the method that is most fun and best for you. Thats all there is to it.Pick the playstyle most fun for you. End of story.Comment

Yeah, I prefer one hand for almost everything since it has the best timing, but two index fingers is fun especially on Quasar since you just hear a bunch of fast taps.\"Darkness is only the absence of light. It\'s always darkest, just before dawn.\"Comment

I expect this is true, but I can't back it from personal experience. Every time I've tried playing with two hands like that, it messes me up. Plus I find it hard to get both hands in a comfortable position when they have to be so close to the keys like that. So I play one handed almost all the time. I'm not very good (yet) though. But yeah, you should play the way you feel most comfortable. Forcing yourself to switch to a method that isn't as comfortable for you might not improve your scores. Or it may take a long time and a lot of practice to overcome the problems you have with the new method.Originally posted by Kefit2 handed, four finger play will get you the highest scores. Essentially retired now, but still ranked on the list of FFR's Top One Handers.

Ive worked hard on one handed, two handed, and just 2 indexs and switch around depending on the song im playing. I think its a lot more fun then just sticking to one method of play, but thats just me. Enjoy.Comment

Yeah, I have to agree with that. I'm starting to get a lot better with just my index fingers. I can just about FC Quasar, which is pretty good considering that I've used two fingers for only a week.\"Darkness is only the absence of light. It\'s always darkest, just before dawn.\"Comment
