Making FL songs not sound like they're from FL. How??

I can make a basic song. It's actually pretty easy for me. However, it's easy to tell that it's a basic FL song. I like making music, and I'd like mine to be better. The thing is, I have no idea where to start. What are some things that make music stop sounding so MIDI-like? How can I make my pieces sound original and cool? Any help would be very nice, and if I get good then trust me, the music will come pouring out when I have time. Hopefully by next summer I'll be awesome enough, and then you'll all get flooded with my music, because I have tons of free time in the summer. Again, please help, and thanks in advance if you do.
So I've gone completely slack-ass and haven't done any work on creating games. =(

In less-depressing news, I got a job for an online business (which sells non-electronic games, of all things!) which has taught me a lot about marketing online and all that jazz.

So now I'm on Twitter @NoahWright.
And I write the blog for their website.

Plus I do cool programming in-house that you'll never see. =O

Stop using samples that come with fl, and dont use the bundled synthesizers (3xosc/ts404), use vsti instead. Add swing to your beats. Try to stay away from using the same patterns too often. Use the 7 band equalizer that comes with fl to enrich your sound, also remember to put one on the master channel and mabye some compression. And wash behind your ears. These are just some of the things i've picked up on my own, use at your own discretion.

Compress your mix well. The fatter and the smoother it sounds, the less Fruityloopy it sounds.

Also, if you get your mix professional mastered, that will eliminate the Fruityloopiness. But getting your mix professionally mastered will cost you around 100$-600$.

Or you can get out a spectogram and do it yourself.
