    TWG 203 Werewolves in Avalon POSTGAME THREAD


    C H R O M A V A L O N:
    Werewolves in Avalon


    A bit of a departure from standard setups, but there's a lot to consider with the mechanics of claims vs counterclaims here and I thought it'd be fun. With that said, here's the


    Setup:

    11 Players
    * 5 Vanilla Towns
    * Red Merlin
    * Blue Merlin
    * Green Merlin
    * Red Werewolf
    * Blue Werewolf
    * Green Werewolf


    Game Rules:
    * Werewolves are given a set of 5 town including the 3 Merlins and 2 random VTs, but they don't know who's who. Wolves cannot NK any of these players on the first night.
    * Each colored Merlin knows their color, and the identity of their correspondingly colored werewolf.
    ******* If wolves fail to achieve parity, they can win by identifying the colors of all Merlins correctly. This occurs after all werewolves have been lynched and before the game result is announced. If wolves are able to match the colors and identities of all merlins, the wolfteam wins.
    * Only alignments reveal on flip.
    * Wolfchat is always present, and dead wolves can continue to chat in the scum discord after death.
    * Merlins know the other Merlin identities, but not their colors.
    EDIT TWO RULES ADDED:
    * There is a post count minimum: each player will be required to make 5 game-related posts due 90 minutes before each EoD each day phase.
    Game related posts are defined as, "posts containing player comments/feedback/thoughts relating to any game actions, events, or other game-related interactions between players".
    Failure to meet the minimum will result in a modkill. Note that I will only be using the above definition to disqualify posts as "game related" above the posting minimum if a player is severely absent for the majority of the phase and tries to squeeze by with bare minimum posts. Warning will not be given. Please play the game you sign up for.
    * The post game werewolf merlin-guessing phase will last 24 hours. Werewolves will be given ONE faction guess to be confirmed by a consensus vote among werewolves.
    REMINDER: since werewolves will be able to continue communication with their faction post-death, they will not have access to the graveyard discord (deadchat).


    Modkill Rule Clarification:
    The post deadline is 90 minutes before EoD. There is a 30 minute host-verification period to check post count and game-related posts in the event of a severely inactive player. Any modkills will be announced at approximately 1 hour before EoD, but the flip for any modkilled player will be withheld until after EoD. No votes will count from or against the player who is modkilled. Voting for said player will be equivalent to a "No-lynch" vote. The modkilled player will be required to stop posting.

    General Info:
    * Phases are 48/24 revolving around 11:00PM Server time (can be changed to 10pm if enough players need it
    * KitB: On
    * OoTC: Off (Except for wolfchat).
    * Roleflips: Partial. Only alignments reveal on flip.
    * Nighttalk: Off (except for wolfchat).
    * NoLynch/Nokill: On
    * Insta: On


    Role PMs


    Welcome, PLAYER, you are a Vanilla Townie.
    Abilities
    During the Day, you may vote for whomever you want lynched.

    Win Condition
    You win when all threats to the Town are eliminated and at least one Town-aligned player is still alive, or nothing can prevent the same. You only win if the werewolves do not correctly match the colors and identities of the Merlins.


    Welcome, PLAYER, you are a Town Red Merlin.

    Abilities
    During the Day, you may vote for whomever you want lynched.
    Red Merlin - You know that PLAYER is a Red Werewolf.
    Wizard Tower - You know that PLAYER and PLAYER are also Merlins. If Town lynch all Werewolves, but werewolves guess the colors of you and your fellow Merlins, Town loses.

    Win Condition
    You win when all threats to the Town are eliminated and at least one Town-aligned player is still alive, or nothing can prevent the same. You only win if the werewolves do not correctly match the colors and identities of the Merlins.


    Welcome, PLAYER, you are a Town Blue Merlin.

    Abilities
    During the Day, you may vote for whomever you want lynched.
    Blue Merlin - You know that PLAYER is a Blue Werewolf.
    Wizard Tower - You know that PLAYER and PLAYER are also Merlins. If Town lynch all Werewolves, but werewolves guess the colors of you and your fellow Merlins, Town loses.

    Win Condition
    You win when all threats to the Town are eliminated and at least one Town-aligned player is still alive, or nothing can prevent the same. You only win if the werewolves do not correctly match the colors and identities of the Merlins.


    Welcome, PLAYER, you are a Town Green Merlin.
    Abilities
    During the Day, you may vote for whomever you want lynched.
    Green Merlin - You know that PLAYER is a Green Werewolf.
    Wizard Tower - You know that PLAYER and PLAYER are also Merlins. If Town lynch all werewolves, but werewolves guess the colors of you and your fellow Merlins, Town loses.

      three small things, two of which I do hope people read

      the first, and this is something a lot more minor, I think wolves lose if raeko doesn't win the KitB on d2.

      I think it may be time to consider changing the death post rule to allow anyone who dies to make a single deathpost, with the exception being people who are modkilled.

      I also think it should become proper practice to have "Votes Locked in during mylo/lylo: Yes/No" in the proposed rules in the same area stuff like "Phantoms ON/OFF KitB ON/OFF Nighttalk ON/OFF" are in the rules

      it should be up to a host to decide, but I think the default should probably be ON and it seems like most people just forget about it (myself included this game)

              General thoughts:

              Wolves played well, with an especially masterful performance by Charu. I agree with sunfan that the odds of a wolf win if raeko died in the d2 kitb are extremely small. Not a good position to be in for wolves, but it's that same vote spread at EoD that ended up helping them win game.

              Town did a good job sniffing out Manti and not letting up. Bugkid did an exceptional job as merlin and seemed to really understand the fine line needed to play the role well. MML projected town very well and maintained pressure in the mostly the right places with a solid thread presence as well

              The perfect snapshot of where both sides could've done better is EoD2, where both the merlins and the wolves are split across two wagons. If all of town had showed up, or if roundbox were to have picked up on bugkid's cues, Charu's hard bus on his last teammate would have been punished for a much likelier town win. As it was, neither mistake was punished, and RNG decided jub's fate.

                    i'll post more in depth thoughts but i did actually figure out who the merlin's matching wolves were after roundbox died

                          I think you did push a little hard this last phase and might've gotten caught if they'd had more time to fully analyze, but the progression to get there was natural so maybe not. It's hard to lock in on you when FFA pushed her too and died early. Anyone in the merlin pool that dies early becomes an easy red herring
