1. I already have one, won't be hard to get

3. You didn't specifically state it had to be REAL items, just items. So I'm sure I could find a genie lamp at a shady garage sale, just like on TV

Lets get theoretical here.. Would the battery ever actually run out? Since space is a vacuum, the battery has to get hot and let off charge... Wouldn't the battery just never drain at all?

I'd probably bring like:

1. a laptop

2. a hard drive containing an archive of the entire Internet (or at least the useful public stuff, dank memes etc - imagine a dump of the entire reddit site, dump of forums... probably a couple tbs, honestly you could spend years on reading FFR archives etc), and every stepmania song or something. (Anything is available if you know how to get it... Best start dumpin now, I'm sure there's stuff you can download from archive.org etc)

3. Best keyboard I could find, something I could ideally swap keys on and repair the switches, or it wouldn't last long enough.

Why:
After reading that back, I was feeling the old deserted island sort of thing, like you are in isolation and need 3 things to keep you occupied... I wanted to become a reading machine, reading entire library archives and shit while becoming a stepmania king.

I dunno though if we are just repopulating I wouldn't bring shit, cause who cares about people

How:
No one suspects the regular old hard drive is really like 10k terabytes, they let me bring it in cause they think its a just a regular pc, otherwise just mask the contents and make it look like its family photos. Hell, someone else probably already has it and there will be some underground p2p network in space that sells porn n shit lol

i have a translated war and peace that i'm reading atm and a russian to english (and english to russian) dictionary

so if you can find a russian war and peace (probably better for translations' sake) and you can convince whatever spawn of satan that's shooting you into space with just three items to take a fourth, i'd say that's your better option

The what:
1. A fleshlight
2. Books on botany/horticulture
3. Some form of music storage and playback device and the means of keeping it operational.

The why:
1. Kinda obvious, but I'm gonna need something a little more substantial than my hand.
2. When/if I get where I'm going I'm going to need to know how to grow plants for various uses, so I figured it'd be the most useful subject to study in the meantime.
3. Cant travel across the universe and not bring sweet tunes.

The how:
1. Probably stash it in my pants
2. I honestly don't know, I'd assume the people behind the mission would just allow me to bring books.
3. Break into the rocket the night before launch and hide it somewhere not obvious

2: ukulele (I'd rather bring my guitar but that would probably hold me down)

Why
1: cos I like to take photos duh
2: I can easily kill 8 hours plus playing an instrument, and would hate to forget how to play / lose skill in it
3: because, music.

How
1: surely I'd be able to bring it / look touristy enough that it just looked apart of me
2: maybe I'd be able to serenade someone / something into getting it there
3: shove it in my bra
