Re: 2015 September/October Set 1
Fellow reviewers ahoj, try reducing offset by 3 at Machines
September 2015 set 1
9/10 - PASS
Well stepped, and I especially liked that you used 12th notes which sit better with this kind of songs. If there were some errors, I didn't notice them. The stepfile is pretty much the same and same over again, but it didn't really bother me. With this kind of song it is hard to get too creative.

9/10 - PASS
This song has an icyworld syndrome, but I like it. In other words, it could have been stepped with only 2/3 of the arrows used, but what would be fun in that? No complains, clear pass.

9.5/10 - PASS
Interesting steps and very playable file! Didn't see anything to whine about. IMO the ending should have been cut off.

8/10 - PASS
I enjoyed the stepfile. Initially many of the patterns were slightly off at various places, and it took me embarrasingly long to realise that I need to fix the offset. Then reduced global offset by 3, and it started bangin'. Great file, but some vocals might have been just slightly inaccurate?

Originally posted by ilikexdYour strengths and weaknesses may never change, but they will still get better as you do, albeit disproportionately of course. You're bad at jumpstream, so just play jumpstream files. Play them for hours. Play ones you have to struggle to SDG, and play ones hard enough to make your hands and arms burn. Then play them some more. Then, the day after the next, play them again. If you aren't already doing this, you can't say you're stuck. Plateauing doesn't really exist, if you aren't improving it means you haven't put in the effort needed to improve, or your effort has been misapplied. It's more of a problem at really high levels, but never totally concrete. -

Bohemian Chic
9.5/10
Difficulty: 41
This would be a great song to help people practice with various skills and improve them. It's got a number of interesting patterns in it and is manageable with the reasonable bpm of the song.
Ershkigal
10/10
Difficulty: 62
Very fun high octane chart with some moderately challenging jumps, though nothing too crazy to trip people up. One of my favorite types of charts, a consistent difficulty that keeps up my focus through and through.
Jews 1 Oppressors 0
9/10
Difficulty: 42
Fun file with quite a decent amount of diversity throughout it, though the most challenging part is only the second small section of the chart really. I did find it enjoyable and fitting to the music though.
Machines
9/10
Difficulty: 30
About as fun as such an easy song gets, and the song was pretty nice on top of that. Good use of jumps in particular, as I didn't feel any were too inappropriate, though the quad might be questionable.Last edited by Xtreme2252; 06-30-2016, 05:53 PM.Comment

Re: 2015 September/October Set 1
Gradiant finished the primary judge task for September/October 2015 Set 1. The notes can be seen below; this thread is being moved over to Completed Sets and the results/notes will be updated in the September/October 2015 thread.
[8.5/10] Bohemian Chic {Chelp} (hi19hi19)
• 6.515 - 8.002: Pitches these (2)s are going to is pretty faint so it’s hard to tell, but I think that there’s a pitch change not only on the sound happening on (1), but (2) as well. Playing along, it feels like the (2)s from 7.461 - 8.002 could be on (3)
• 11.515 & 11.785: Could both be shifted a column to the right so that 11.785 and 12.056 aren’t the same
• 12.731: Ghost note if you’re only layering flute here
• 19.623 - 20.434: Patterning could be changed slightly to still follow PR but not make the last 4 descending notes just a 3-4-3-4 trill
• 54.488 - 54.894: Same as 19.623, but now it’s 4 ascending notes being done as just a 2-3-2-3 trill
• 75.299: No accented piano here like the jumps surrounding it, probably should just be a single
• 135.249 - 135.654: Same as 75.299
• 145.789 - 147.345: Same as 6.515 - 8.002
[9/10] Ereshkigal {ABE3} (hi19hi19)
• 40.068: 39.893 has same sound but just a jump, why is this a hand?
• 58.556: Pretty sure these 32nds are ghost notes, I don’t hear anything here
• 64.137: Same thing as above with these 32nds
• 93.440: Missing jump
• 95.533, 96.230: Same
[9/10] Jews 1, Oppressors 0 (Avinu Malkein0wned) {Jake Kaufman} (hi19hi19)
• 76.133: Ghost note
• 145.470 - 160.693: Seems like jumps are going to strings in places like 160.693 or 160.162, but missing at 150.854 or 151.426
• Laughing really hard at the ending because of how discordant the piano is.
[8*/10] Machines {Crown the Empire} (DarkZtar)
• Community review mentioned needing a large offset, but it must’ve just been a conversion error for the engine, as the sync is fine
• 0 - 39.147: I think I see what you were doing here with the jumps in this build-up, but it the beginning of the build-up is weird because of it; jumps at 6.608 or 10.300 seem out of place because the note just after them is the same sound but they’re singles.
• 42.377: Cymbal here doesn’t warrant a jump as much as what you’ve layered as jumps surrounding it. Jump to only faint cymbal happens several more times like at 46.070 or 49.762
• 84.839: No jumptrill here like previously done for these drums
• 92.685 - 118.531: Same issue as 0 - 39.147; can’t tell what jumps are to in the start of this section, not only for percussion but they don’t seem to go to the vocals either, at least until a bit more of the build-up happens and then the jumps look normal.
• 129.262: Missing jump
• 150.031: Missing noteOriginally posted by hi19hi19oh boy, it's STIFF, I'll stretch before I sit down at the computer so not I'm not as STIFF next time I step a fileComment
