    Questions regarding movies in Stepfiles

i've seen it done before, so i know it's possible, but there are a couple things i dont know.

    1) does it have to be a certain file type, or can SM use several different kinds?
    2) what all do i have to do to make the movie play? just so Add Background change and say to start movie or something like that? i've never really worked with background changes or movies before, so i'm not sure
    3) as long as it is small enough, am i allowed to upload the stepfile with the movie to the FFR database? not having the movie really reduces the hilarity of the thing, so i'd want it to have the movie included, and i may have to find a different site to upload to if i cant have the movie with it

thanks in advance for answering any of these questions
So I've gone completely slack-ass and haven't done any work on creating games. =(

In less-depressing news, I got a job for an online business (which sells non-electronic games, of all things!) which has taught me a lot about marketing online and all that jazz.

So now I'm on Twitter @NoahWright.
And I write the blog for their website.

Plus I do cool programming in-house that you'll never see. =O

Re: Questions regarding movies in Stepfiles

Well, to answer your first question: AVI and MPEG movie files do work with Stepmania, but I'm not so sure about MPEGs cause I use AVI's more. To play it on your simfile, just go to the edit steps and go down to Add/BG Change (you'll know it when you see it), go down the list to "Add Change to Song Movie" and pick your movie file. And yeah, with the new expansion FFR made to the database, you can now upload a movie with steps on the site. Remember to place the movie file in the exact place you think will fit the song that's playing or it'll look offsync.

btw do you know how to remove the blur from movie files? You know, that motion blur?
Its ok if you don't know.
