    Rhythm gaming grandtotal?

    Hey!

So, how much would be your Grand Total, if you'd gain points from all rhythm games you have ever played? You would gain as much points as from FFR from all games obviously.

Most of my points would come from FFR, so:
    FFR: 28,3G
    Stepmania: 5G
    Guitar hero: 1G
    DDR: 0,4G

    That'd be: 34,7G Grand Total

Plateauing doesn't really exist, if you aren't improving it means you haven't put in the effort needed to improve, or your effort has been misapplied. It's more of a problem at really high levels, but never totally concrete.

You're kidding right? I've played stepmania for ten years, plus who knows how much ddr/itg/piu, and other miscellaneous other games.

    Well over 100,000,000

        That was my first thought.

I played FFR/Stepmania for about 4 years. Guitar Hero and Rockband for a few years (at least 95% songs beaten on Expert). Then I've played other rhythm games such as Elite Beat Agents, Rhythm Heaven and Theatrhythm. All in all, I've played a ton of rhythm games but there's no way I'd be able to remember them all let alone what my total scores would be.

I also don't understand your scoring system. How much exactly is 1G? That usually refers to a thousand but you seem to be using it as a billion based on your FFR score?

I forgot that most of you are Americans.

"In metric, you'd use M (mega) for million, G (giga) for billion and T (tera) for trillion. "

I don't know how assuming your own Grand Total can be so difficult

Players who have mained Stepmania should have higher "grand totals" in general to those on FFR.

Also players like TC_Halogen who plays every rhythm game ever would amount a huge amount of GT if everything was fully calculated.

In general I can imagine that quite a handful of us have played Rhythm Games (not just FFR) for a decade or longer and if there was a time calculator logging each minute we spent on a rhythm game I could expect those players to have trillions of GT.

              Re: Rhythm gaming grandtotal?

Looking at my whatpulse stats, over 8 months I've hit ~12.5 million keys but this is without counting the numpad which has been half of my setup for a while now so...add an extra million to that number. That's around 20 million in a year raw, I'd estimate stepmania/rhythm gaming accounts for 95% of those key inputs giving me 19 million every year.

I played way more from 2005-2007 than I did from 2012-now but lets say I maintained those numbers for 8 years.

              19mil/year * 8years = 152 million notes hit.

Given average number of notes in a song is around ~1520 we'll say (hue), that means I played roughly 100,000 complete games..

My grand total has 23,679 games played (most of which are incomplete) but w/e, my "score per game" is around 880,000.

This means I've accumulated roughly 88 billion grand total...that's an incredibly rough estimate though and it only includes stepmania/ffr.

tl;dr this shit is hard to estimate.

Yeah there's no way I have only 88 bill...it's probably double that lol

Count in years of GH, Stepmania, DDR,

Assuming a similar amount of GT/time...

I'd probably be around 50 billion

If only there was a metric for Starcraft play that may be higher lol

Thanks for the answer! As most of the FFR legends come from Stepmania, it's really hard to know how much they actually have played to gain their skill level. Obviously someone gets better faster than the other, but this gives a nice idea of how much playing it requires to get really good.

                      Re: Rhythm gaming grandtotal?

with all my alts added to this account i'd be at 18bil

I've only ever played ffr casually, sm is where i spent most of my time and for 5 years at that in 2010-2011 i went through just about every pack at the time i could get my hands on. So that's about 20k songs by itself. I played 10k songs over the span of 9 months in 2010. Before 2010 I still played a lot mostly hsmp and any js files i could get my hands on (nbjs didn't exist). I'm gonna say probably around another 10k songs from 2008-2010.Oh yea 2011-2012 is pretty much the last of my stepmania days I went pretty hard on NB songs for this last year and a half. Probably i'd say another 5k songs

So 20k+10k+10k+5k songs +18bil on ffr (around 15k songs)

I'm gonna say about 72bil GT

                        Re: Rhythm gaming grandtotal?

I estimate that I play around 10bil/year in general.

                        FFR: 125bil
SM: 50bil (played randomly since 2004, but by now the play time is about slightly less than half of FFR.)
                        O2Jam: 25bil (played about 2.5 years)
Osu: 20bil (played 1.5 year actively)
Bandmaster: 10bil (played about 1 year at various interval)
Guitar Hero 3: 10bil (played about 1 year at various interval)

240bil? Sounds a little high, maybe more like 225ish.

@ whatpulse: typed 19,822,675 keys for 21 weeks, 6 days, 12 hours, 57 minutes, 5 seconds. Except that I only used that over a very limited amount of time so, it's pointless stats.
