    Tibs makes metal [updated 05/01]

Sometimes I like to make metal covers of songs.

Jesters of the Moon (Final Fantasy IX)

    Carry Away (Psychic Force)
    https://soundcloud.com/ihmuk/carry-away

    Fire! (TMNT: The Arcade Game)

Bump for new cover. Also I have ~3 minutes of an original black metal WIP that I'm considering uploading because fuck it.

Oh yeah I was supposed to check this out. How do you make them? Using real instruments run through a program or what? You been making music for long or just starting out?

      EDIT:

Jesters Of The Moon was pretty good. I liked it overall. A little repetitive in the middle but that was probably down to the song itself rather than your re-imagining of it.

I didn't like Carry Away. The sounds didn't really work together and the main tune (not sure what instrument it was) was too high and monotone against the drums.

All done in FL Studio. I've been making music for 6-7 years, but the digital guitar thing is new to me. Up until now i've mostly made electronic music.

Well fair play, it's more than I could do.

You got any samples of your electronic music?

Not that I have uploaded. I tend to be incredibly critical of my own work so a lot of stuff ends up deleted or sitting in a folder forever.

This is the first time I've publicly uploaded anything I've made because I figured it'd be good to get feedback from people other than the handful of close friends I've shared music with in the past.

That said, here's some ninja turtles.

That one was good. Punchy and didn't overstay its welcome. Sorry but I don't have any other feedback, I don't know anything about music production so all I can say is whether or not I liked it.

And there's nothing wrong with keeping stuff to yourself if you're just doing it for fun, but you shouldn't delete stuff. Having a record of your past allows you to go back and see how you've improved, or to use past ideas in new, more informed ways.

Works for me! Glad you enjoyed it.

I'm really not sentimental in any way. For the most part, I (try to) make music that I would enjoy listening to, and I don't enjoy listening to my old stuff, so it doesn't really make any sense to keep it around cluttering my hard drive. I know how far I've improved.

That said, even if I did want to keep a record of my improvement, most of my really old stuff is lost due to hard drive / computer failures. Like I said, I've been doing this for 6-7 years and I have a history of terrible computer problems. Right now I'm posting from a laptop hooked up to a monitor because the laptop screen is completely totalled.
