    Locking out versus constant tension?

    Thoughts on this?

Have you experimented with both / what was your experience?

    I do both.

I don't think it matters much in the long run.

The exceptions being: If you are interested in powerlifting you should lock everything out, since that's what you're doing in competition.

And if you are interested in gaining size I think adding constant tension lifts to your routine isn't a bad idea. If anything just to increase the total volume of your workout.

For the most part I think it may be more beneficial overall to lock out, just as a basis for building strength on your compound lifts. Time under tension can be something more loosely used on accessory work.

if you lock out, there is still tension somewhere.

depends on the movement. lockout will ensure a full ROM, and a full ROM will guarantee all the muscles get their fair share of swole.

I lockout all of my compound lifts. However all my single joint lifts I stop just shy of lockout. Not for the time-under-tension gains, but to alleviate my joints.
