    So I asked Monstercat for permission...

    ... and this is the reply I got. (I used the example template for permissions from that one thread):

    So here a few questions:

    1. What should I say back? Gavin here seems to think I'm part of the team that runs FFR. However, alas, I am a mere player of the game. Not sure how to reply to this now so any advice would be welcome.
    2. Did I miss a front page post or something? Has it been announced somewhere that we have permission for any Monstercat song? From the sound of it we've had this for a bit but I've never heard anything about it.
    3. Why have we not had a huge wave of Monstercat songs if we have the permission?!?

    Hopefully this isn't being intentionally kept secret or something. I'm not intentionally spilling the beans if that's the case. Could someone fill me in on this? Thanks

                          who cares if the secret is out

                          people cant even chart dubstep/electro properly (outside of a couple of people here and there)

                          and always continue to complain about dubstep/electro files in general

                          more music for me to shit into the game though

                                  Dubstep/electro files seem to have this history of extremely awkward pattern choices and I have no idea why...it makes me less enthused when a new file in that genre comes out

                                              Sorry dude! Didn't see Monstercat on the list of aquired permissions so I thought I'd give it a shot. In retrospect I probably should have sent a DM to an admin or something... hey ho we're here now. Monstercat files are coming! Woo!

                                                  Well this is sort of upsetting. It's no fault of yours though, nolimits112. No one expected this.

                                                  In any case, I'll be contacting Gavin shortly.

                                                  PLEASE NOTE:
                                                  You are not allowed to currently submit Monstercat-related songs to the regular batch of which the artist is one we do not have full permission for, until we open submissions for this tournament that is.
                                                  e.g. You can still submit a song by Rogue during the November-December period, as we've already acquired permission from him prior to this.
                                                  e.g. You cannot submit a song by Tristam during the November-December period, as we do not have permission from him yet. Label permission of Monstercat will only be granted once the tournament begins.

                                                  Given the context that the label asked about creating a tournament, we've decided to keep that event a surprise. Like many things on the staff's to-do list, we can't just spill every detail.

                                                      Because it's fun to surprise people? I have a few secret permissions too, hopefully people enjoy them.

                                                      I don't plan on keeping them secret forever (that's a bit rude) but there's a time and place for everything; nothing like a little dramatic entrance for certain popular musicians or an up-and-coming artist that the community will love.

                                                          When you look at it that way, you'd never ask that question, because the need to keep some things secret is self-explanatory.
