there is a converter out in the wild that i used to convert some files a few months back

i forgot where it was and i don't have it anymore, but try asking in the o!m irc channel on osu

....because a lot of people play osumania? like it or not, osumania has a substantially larger 4k population than ffr/sm does. i'd be playing it rather than SM right now since it has better multiplayer integration in pretty much every way, but i have various technical issues that i can't be bothered to fix.

if you convert to Osumania (unless you're the actual author) you can't get the chart ranked. If it's not ranked what point is there playing it on Osu? I don't get it, just play it on SM like it was intended ?_?

preference over SM for whatever reason (exposure, judgement system, hold mechanics, insert_arbitrary_reason_here)

as far as I know, conversions cannot be ranked. If you made the map yourself, then you can submit it and HOPE that they like it. mostly mods will ask you to change some stuff in your map. otherwise, you'll have to just temporarily screenshot scores and post them somewhere. besides, getting a higher rank due to grinding doesn't make you automatically better than everyone else :P

dumb rule. this basically weeds out any classics that could potentially be ranked in o!m. osu! shouldn't be discouraging content, it should be embracing it.

i have absolutely no trust in the map mods to know what they are doing. i'm almost positive i'm more qualified than they are.
