    ITT post and play the last file in the thread

    Okay, I've been sitting on this idea for a while, so here goes:

    There are tons upon tons upon tons of great files that get overlooked because there's so many of 'em. This game is a shot at unearthing some hidden treasures.

    RULES
    1. Play the file posted by the LAST person in the thread.
    2. Make the next post and include:
    A. Your score and opinions on the file
    B. ONE file that you want somebody else to play - bonus points if you include a reason for why you love this file / want people to play this file

    3. Last rule: no posting your own files

    After a reasonable amount of time, I will compile the first 50-60 files posted in this thread and release a compilation pack.

    Here's the first file:

    (Kil) Rhapsody on a Theme of Saga Frontier II 19
    Originally from Puritanical Penis Pack, this file is an absolute classic in using minimal pattern shifts, contrasting sections, and slightly off-kilter rhythms to create tension, nuance, and emotion from a very simple song. Very easy but it'll have your attention for sure.

      I forgot to screenshot but it was AA with 3 greats and really shit MA

      classic kil chart. simple, but beautifully controls the tension in the melody. the chart also handles the sudden changes of intensity very well. my favorite part is probably the long 16th run, which is in my opinion extremely creative and executed well.


      Fear - kn33grow (SMG2)

      I think this is a really good chart that's been overlooked. even by today's standards I think it's really good. really solid patterns and creative usage of freezes to hold and release intensity in the background soundscape. some of the freezes might be a tad bit long, but it doesn't tarnish the chart

                      it's a bad keyboard okay

                      really amazing file in terms of texture. I love the usage of freezes to convey so many different nuances to the synths and the melodies. the only complaint is one specific to a limitation in 4-key, namely that some of the patterns feel a bit too freeform/asymmetrical. overall one of my fave Kn33 files, though!

                      (Rebound) Scarlet Rose
                      From LCP3, an incredibly underrated jem. Incredibly dense jazz rhythms handled so deftly it feels like finger ballet.

                          really smooth and groovy. the long holds are a tiny bit annoying but overall a really cool chart


                          World's Most Wanted Wiener - wc (LCP3)

                          really groovy and incredibly fun. I think this is a bit overlooked sometimes

                              Yeah this file is fun. Surprised I fc'd it without warming up.

                              I pick uh...[2-5] Starry Sky from rebound dump 2 , if only because this file has caused me the most rage over my short stepmania career so far. The jacks at the end are not fair.

                                          Pretty nice, the part where it got denser flowed nicely.

                                              Totally agreed about the jacks! They're all in sets of 3, so they're comfortable to hit. Throwback to the early jumpstream days... really enjoyable. By the way, don't play this with an x-mod hahah.
