[READ UPON CREATING A NEW TOPIC] How to properly write a topic in this subforum

I'm sure you want you've been antsy to get your profile decorated by some of our artists, but if you want to increase the chances that someone will take your request, you might want to format your post somewhat like this:

Format (feel free to CTRL+C the whole thing):

    Thread Title: Anime/Character/Theme - [Price]
    Thread Message:
I'm not going to be very picky here for what order you do this in, but try to follow this as best as you can for maximum effectiveness.
Character: _________________ (what is your desired character?)
Source: ___________________ (where is your character from?)
Art Style: __________________ (do you want it simple? abstract? grunge? other?)
Colors: ____________________ (what colors do you expect to see in this profile?)
Other/Trifles: _______________ (this is where you ask for things like URLs on your profile, names in avatars, integrated avatars, etc)

Remember that you can leave things blank if you don't care/or the fields are non-applicable (N/A).

Example of a filled out request:

    Thread Title: Touhou/Kirisame Marisa [100k]
    Thread Message:
    Character: Kirisame Marisa
    Source: Touhou
Art Style: Simple (clean lines, sharp colors)
    Colors: Yellow and White
Others/Trifles: I want to have my username in my avatar, a long profile (4000+ px tall), as well as my play style integrated into my player card area. I also don't want that ugly URL hanging on my background, so please don't include it. Finally I would like it if you could include this image, which I feel will help you get a better sense of what I want.

With this format it makes it easier for the artist to find what s/he's looking for and make an educated response on whether or not they are capable of completing your request. Plus, it's a far better approach than "Q_Q can someone make me profile plx i have 15k."

    Good luck and Enjoy!

And yet not many people lately are trying to include these things. It's very hard for them to get a request filled if they don't include these things. Expand expand expand expand.

Honestly, I don't like how pushy this post comes across. No one has really done things this way and for the most part, requests are done directly with an artist in private, as design concepts often change. This almost eliminates that middle step that helps make profiles as good as they can become.

It is nice to have some convention for posting requests, but I feel like this is very specific, and possibly too specific for those that are somewhat indecisive/less artistically inclined. If the purpose of this thread is to help in preventing ambiguity by informing people, that's nice, and I agree with that purpose. If it's just to create something for everyone to conform to in the long run, then no, I don't agree with this.

I'm not telling them how to write PM's, I'm telling them how to write the topics in this section. This is more for the public. This format helps guide the requester through the process and also opens up more possibility of people accepting/reading their post.

It's not going to be a law. It's going to be a necessity.

I know you're not telling them how to write PMs -- I'm saying that a lot of communication is done privately once a request is simply taken, and then all of the details come into play afterward. Why is it necessary to change something that has worked quite well in the past?

Few to no artists have used a format this descriptive before, why is it absolutely necessary now? This area is barely used as it is... I don't know.

              I guess I don't get it.

Seems to be getting more use of late, and this is before the request is taken. I keep seeing posts like "guys, I have 80k can someone make me a profile." As an artist I tend to avoid threads like those because the guy doesn't even know what he wants. (From experience those are the ones I have the most trouble with, because it leads to one change to another.)

I was hoping this subforum could turn into a sort of starting point for requests which would then lead to communication with the artist who accepts it /via PMs.

edit: I'm not being picky. I only want to help the guys who aren't getting any responses get those responses.

Yes. Just leave out the Character/Source. Unless you just want one from somewhere else.. even Character could be replaced with "person" I guess. It's very flexible, you guys just don't seem to want to make it flexible.
