Random piss in the face of inspiration. Could obviously use less monotony.
Personally think this is my best works yet.

      sign of social awkwardness

just bump asking for comments, no need to self-pity yourself

Aside from the slight monotony I think this is pretty solid. A bit of work on instrumentation would embellish it. It's what defines your sound as an artist.

Social awkwardness ftw, I'm not ashamed.

Then again, I'm only good for monotony. I'm basically better off producing for video games (sidescrolling shooters for example). Thanks for the comment. Been working more on my sound and how things come together. I've actually felt a great improvement since I started out.

I meant it as in people won't want to comment if it's too awkward : x

monotony isn't necessarily a bad thing depending on the style of music you're composing. For this type of work though I think a bit more variety would work. Unless you really want to venture into house hybridz and all that hipster shit

Personally I have the worst melody mindset ever and can't work with more than 8 bars, repeat, bar 12 "LET'S HAVE ONE MORE LITTLE BIT OF CHANGE".

I'm horrible with melodies, which is why I've been straying off to remixes lately. Getting used to different keys, progression and progression potential, BPMs, that stuff.

Melodies don't need to be complicated. Just write down a few notes, make it catchy, simple, and with an instrument/lead that's appealing to hear. Most popular trance songs have the most generic chord progressions and leads ever haha but it's just because it's catchy.

Ever since I started out, all I've done is fail at melodies sounding good because I never even understood keys and stayed to a constant 140 bpm in every track. I hope to change my melody making abilities in the future and stray FAR away from staying in one BPM for long periods of time (and for multiple tracks in a row).

                    make a simple chord progression

                    put notes (melody)

                    wala u did it

this is okay, really really generic and repetitive, nothing seems to happen. (2 melodies (beginning and end, and "breakdown") in this not counting supporting stuff, thats not cutting it for 4 mins+)
