    Upcoming Ouya Game: Dub Wars

    So my friend is on the dev team for this game called Dub Wars. It's currently in the early stages of development and is being developed for the Ouya console*. The basic premise is a rhythm based shooter game, where your weapons are not controlled by you, but the music. Here's a vid of what it looks like so far.



    I'm trying to see if there's some interest in this in the community. As of right now, there is no editor for making your own custom levels, but I suggested the idea to him. So what are your thoughts on it?

              Haha this is so sick though assuming based on the title that this is going to be based around dub step or will there be other genres of music be used?

                  Looks like beathazard ultra when you play to a dubstep song, just the weapons are based on the music rather than the intensity of the attacks/lights/speed

                      so will it be able to play any songs on the ouya like beat hazard can play any songs on the pc/xbox? that would be a cool addition
                      the game looks sick so far though gonna recommend it to people who are getting ouya for sure

                          From him, "It's all hand crafted, so no. Procedurally generated attacks from reading the wave form has been done a lot and never really gets the punch that people want. After a long time of scraping around, this seems like the only way to do it and get the results we wanted."

                          However, I did suggest an editor to create your own files for it, and he said he'd bring it up with the team. Another idea that was sent his way was to have an editor to make your own weapons for it, but that one sounds like it would take a lot more work to implement, so I don't have as much faith in that one getting put in.

                          Also, while it is being made for the Ouya, they have plans to ship it out in an up-rezed version for Xbox/Playstation, and might even put it on PC. So if you don't plan on buying an Ouya, no worries. Should still buy it though, as I'm pretty sure how well it does on the Ouya will influence whether or not they put it on more platforms.
