Have the best players at FFR already been filtered out via some selection process? Or if you received 2 million extra players, would you see a new level of skill?

Consider: iamchris4life was top tier at ITG and transitioned to being top tier at Guitar Hero, even though one had millions more in terms of players.

That's something pretty fun to think about honestly, the top tier players we have now are absolutely insane. If anything, I don't think we'd see too many above our top currently, even out of 2 million users - Only time would tell really.

I think we'd easily see plenty of newbies who would ultimately surpass the current elites, no question

Imagine if FFR became as popular as LoL and the best players were paid.

If there was a 2 million user boost, the current D6 would be D4 and Heavy would be the gateway out of noob-dom.

I would have to say there are alot of really good players that are either in different communities or just play similar games that they are good at. Think about the top players in IIDX and the top players in BMS. If the top players from BMS switched over to IIDX would they become the top IIDX players? the game is basically the same.

If those people were paid to play this game then I would expect them to play as much as Staiain does, haha.

I'm sure with that much of a boost there were would be a select handful that could surpass Staiain. The thing about Staiain is that he strikes so fast it allows him to handle absurd speeds -- that is the advantage he has over basically every other player as of right now. You also can't forget the vibrating part because that's something Staiain doesn't have. I could even see another player AAAing Jackhammer Madness with better MA than my AAA.

Ultimately though if there's no money incentive I can't see many other players coming up. That is a frustrating thought.

Just chiming in here that Chris Chike actually never quit playing ITG; in fact, he went from ITG to GH and back to ITG again, haha

As far as the topic at hand, I wouldn't doubt that there are a large amount of players that would surpass the current community, but you'd best believe that the current top players are going to stand their ground and fend off the newly rising players if there's an incentive to do so.

I play mostly for fun now, but if I had a real challenge I'd actually play for serious again.

I don't think you guys understand how far ahead you are in terms of skill to a newcomer. If anyone were to catch up, it would take years, and even then, I don't see it happening.

Didn't take ddrkid007 (EtienneSM) to skill boost to D7. (Less than 2 years?)

Anyway, the larger the pool of people, the better the 'best' players are going to be, it's pretty obvious. Remember when golf/tennis were private sports only open to the wealthy? It's no different basically, I'm sure there would be dozens of people as fast as Staiain...it's just not going to happen because that would imply that tens or hundreds of thousands of people would have to put that much effort into the game.
