O2Jam U is a spin off of O2 Jam that has been release exclusively for iOS only (as of 2-22-2013). The game is a freemium game, where you can earn points (I believe up to 8) without having to pay anything, although for a very small price you can acquire a significant amount of songs available. The other in-game currency is Gems, which can be used to add modifier to increase score, shuffle the notes, or combo breaking forgiveness.
O2Jam U has three different settings for the note charts: 2 Keys, 4 Keys, and 5 keys. Obviously, it gets harder by increasing the level of the note charts, and even as a veteran Stepmania player, the top level songs (Level 31 is currently the highest) are quite difficult to clear. However, the greatest majority of the songs are under level 22.
It also features a combo-multiplier system, much like Guitar Hero. As you go through each song and maintain a combo/minimize missed notes (every 4 consecutive notes breaks the multiplier bonus), you can increase the combo value of each note, up to 4x per note. It's an easy way to cheese the system and clear songs you normally might not clear.
