Yes I am actually making a thread on what your about to read because well, a certain user decided to blow things way out of proportion.
A few days ago there was a thread titled "Show some respect to women." I read the OP FULLY and made a general comment saying "Respect is earned, not given," followed by saying "I think men and women need to respect each other equally, not have it be one-sided." I know it wasn't directly related to the OP, but just wanted to share that as a general, non-offensive statement, and even said "I'm going off on a slight tangent".
The user then quoted what I said saying "If you read the OP, you would have known what I was talking about," so I decided to be a dick (which i'm not denying) and said he needs to go to the source rather than post about it and called him a "pussy ass bitch." Again I know it was being a dick but I'm not the only only on this site that's ever been a dick to someone, and in fact I'm sure nearly every user has at some point.
Anyway this obviously caused it to blow up and people thought I wanted to fight him, etc. Fact is I don't, AND I wasn't trying to be all "macho" about it. It was just a basic dick comment like any other user has posted in the past for the hell of it.
OK so the real reason I'm making this post is because of what this user then went on to say about me. Here are his exact words:
"ssbmchamp, you should feel absolutely ashamed of yourself! Your cocky attitude got the better of you, and you decided to "come out fighting" completely unprovoked, all because of some macho attitude you have. In effect, you were supporting sexual assault of women and I have no good words to say about that.
It speaks incredibly poorly of you. The very best thing you can do is admit you had no idea what you were talking about, that you were completely out of place, that you attacked unprovoked, and offer a public apology, but I don't think you will do so. That's okay; not doing so only makes you look bad."
The statement in bold is what really got me. No where have i EVER said I support that, nor do I in real life as well. I don't mind people calling me a dick, or bashing me on that because that's the consequences of being a dick once in awhile, but saying I support something that serious and illegal....that's just fucked up. I have no idea how he could even write that because again I would LOVE to see proof that I said I support that. Like i said people are dicks to each other everyday on this site, but you don't see them accusing each other of supporting sexual assault or something extreme like terrorism, or hate crimes, etc. That's on a whole other level than being a dick and I absolutely refuse to apologize for something members do to one another everyday. If anyone should apologize it should be him for saying I'm in support of something like that.
