Routing a Tumblr to a unique domain

I bought a domain from Domain.com, and want to have a tumblr subdomain run through the unique domain. Tumblr says stuff about changing the A Record, and I did that, but Tumblr is still saying that the A Record hasn't changed. Is there specific stuff I need to do with the DNS or anything? Is there a delay in changes being made to the DNS?

Any tips? Kind of a noob.

Takes up to 48 hours for DNS info to propagate on godaddy domains so I would assume domain.com may take a while as well. Here is Godads walkthrough for setting it up. Give it a read and see if it sheds any light on the situation.
