Nintendo won't be on board with the online crowd in the foreseeable future.

A huge number of people who play video games frequently play games online. The Wii obviously didn't hold a candle to the online functionality of the 360 or the PS3, and it looks like the Wii U still won't be up to snuff in this aspect.
Why do I care, personally? I'm thoroughly confused about Nintendo's intended audience at this point. Some of the decisions for the Wii U and its projected library have been major advances toward the "hardcore" sector, while other announcements have counteracted the wants of that same group. Very strange.
What do y'all think?
