I'm probably not even going to be able to visit a small chunk of them, but ya never know. Share your top 10 most desired places to visit. Re: Traveler's Bucket List

I've been to Iceland, it was my single favorite part of any trip I've taken ever. I cannot recommend Iceland enough <3
You can see most of the important sights on the island in one (very action-packed day) or two if you want to go to hot springs or the glaciers.
Also get lucky and see a nice aurora night! (maybe not too exciting if you live in a good part of Canada for viewing but it was very awe-inspiring for someone like me who usually is too far south to ever see a good one)

Have not been to Vladivostok but I've been to St.Petersburg and Moscow. St.Petersburg is just fairly tourist-y. You can get around just fine without knowing Russian, and there's lots of stuff on the main "beaten path" that caters to tourists. You can get a taste of real Russia by straying off the main path but it's not the same as going to...
Moscow. Moscow is RUSSIAN AS FUC. Not many people speak English, and it just feels more authentic than St.Petersburg overall. After going to Moscow I'd love to go even more into the wilderness of Russia and just drink vodka and be awesome in the middle of ****ing motherland Siberia~

Another place I'd really reccomend is Thailand. Thai culture really emphasizes respect and politeness, so it's incredibly easy to get around as a tourist there. Bangkok is a nice place and all (maybe less so after the riots and flooding though...) but real Thailand is just going off in the middle of nowhere. My best memory was when I visited a small, family-run farm that processed sugar a few hours out from Chiang Mai.
Was incredible, to get there my family and my Thai friend (my sister's old roommate lol) took first an old beat up truck down a dirt road, then had to take a canoe ride down a canal because there were no more roads. Once we got to the end of the canal the preferred method of travel was by elephant so we rode elephants (****ing elephants!) through what was basically a swamp until we got to the farm. So amazing.

      Wish list for me:
      1. Antarctica (last continent I need to visit to have caught 'em all)
      2. Sweden
      3. Nepal
      4. Panama
      5. Northern Turkey

Some other places I'd like to visit, like going to China and South Korea again, and Poland... the world is an awesome place.
(I'd love to go to North Korea too but that's a bit of a logistical challenge. Had a friend in college who visited N.K. because his father was a diplomat/journalist guy of some sort, very interesting to hear the stories)

I'm quite envious of your treks. North Korea is a place I'd like to visit just to say I did, and to see how artificial the country is when presented to foreigners.

Thailand is up there on my list, probably a more realistic trip as well.

As far as far east Russia goes, anywhere there would be great. I picked Vladivostok because of its large population (500,000). Riding the Trans-Siberian Express is a dream of mine.

Visit my fatherland, Germany again. Haven't really explored eastern and southern Germany as much as I'd wish.

Yeah NK is one of those places that I want to go just to have been there. Nothing in particular I want to see other than... what it's like to be in North Korea haha

Thailand is very easy- the only hard part is the money for airfare

And yeah I'd love to ride the Trans-Siberian Express. I'm not a huge train fanatic or anything but there's something romantic about blasting across the frozen wilderness in a train
With that in mind I'd love to ride China's new rail line to Tibet too.
