I was originally thinking about overrated games, but why not take it a little further? These aren't necessarily THE top, but close enough. Ordered roughly by age. Feel free to do lists of ten, one per console, one per year, whatever you want. Not posting is cool, too. I might come back later with five more per category, eheh.
five best - reducing this list to just five is difficult
Super Mario Bros 3 - First game I ever beat. Pretty heavy nostalgia.
Majora's Mask - The moon. Creepy! Intense! Hey, I have this stamp... lol.
Chrono Cross - Dat plot O_o
MGS3: Snake Eater - All those secrets/easter eggs, wow.
Demon's Souls - Refreshingly old-school modern game.
five overrated* - silly people tout these, even if they've never played em
Super Mario Bros 3 - I love it to death, but admit it's overrated.
Chrono Trigger - See above for the true champ. Double/triple techs are better here, though.
Super Metroid - I was reluctant to include this, but had to.
Ocarina of Time - NOT the best game ever, okay? 9/10
Final Fantasy 7 - People just distracted by Sephiroth's long sword, long hair, long dong.
five underdog - this is the category to dump dreamcast games
Castlevania 64 - Still the best 3D Castlevania, IMO.
Mischief Makers - Holy woahly! A shame it's best played on a N64 controller.
Grandia 2 - There's an older thread about great RPG combat systems. Here ya go.
Shenmue - Wake up. Go to the arcade. Play Hang-On. Revenge can wait.
Dokapon Kingdom - Played with friends, beyond amazing.
*Activision "games" not listed due to being abominations.
