Prototype SNES games and Starwing Competition

Sup, I recently stumbled upon a listing on a dutch marketplace website of a guy who is selling a bunch of prototype snes games, which obviously are rare as all hell. Basically they're the final prototype versions for conversion of the JAP market to the NTSC market before it's put into production for American consoles. Seeing as some of you are retro games collectors as well and I don't have the means or interest to buy these games, I figured I'd post them on here too in case anyone is interested in them.

    The games are:

    Bubsy (Prototype NTSC) €199.95 ($247.08)

    Megaman X (Prototype NTSC) €499.95 ($617.79)

    Starwing Competition (PAL) €249.95 ($309.09)

Stunt Race FX (Prototype NTSC) €199.95 ($247.08)

Super Metroid (Prototype NTSC) €499.95 ($617.79)

You can view more images of them here if you press on the thumbnails: http://www.retrogamewinkel.nl/collectoritem

I can probably help in communicating to the seller but you can also try contacting him on your own. I'm sure he speaks/writes English as well given that he's a gameshop owner and has NTSC carts and perhaps you can work out a deal with him to ship outside of the Netherlands (it shouldn't be a problem). There's no english version of his website though, but the contact page is on the top right of his website.

This would be sooo legit if I would actually collect SNES and / or had funding.

      Nice find though!

I'm not so far into my collecting that I'm looking for stuff like this yet, but it's always interesting to see. I don't think that any of those prototype carts have any extra content that was cut from final releases (although I'm still looking into it XD), but they're still good if you're looking to become the next DreamTR!

Am I the only one who's a little wary about Starfox Competition carts these days, seeing how rife the fake cart market for that particular cart is? Not saying that one is of course, and it'd not be too hard to check if you could actually get ahold of the cart, but people love to make repros of that game more than anything else it seems!

I can't give any guarantee of legitimacy but the aging of the carts and the labels look pretty convincing to me. He also has pictures of the backsides of each cartridge. Here's the one for Starfox Competition for example:

edit: Also since he's a shop owner, I doubt he'd want a bad name for selling fakes in his shop. That doesn't take away that he could be unaware that they're not legit, but based on the aging I think they are.

Can't find much about a couple of them online, looks like it might be time to contact him... *interest piqued*
