Re: Milla Tries Drum n' Bass
Way too sluggish and not enough "oomph" in the snare. All around lacking in energy and drumwork.
Stick to Dubstep / Electro.
Build was superb, gets you hyped and then it turns into this dub/moombahton/electro speed DnB wanna-be shit.
Also it was oh-so repetitive.
Sorry, but that was awful and I know you can do better. Milla never lets down usually :'< -
Re: Milla Tries Drum n' Bass
this is dope and havent really heard anything like this as far as dnb goes. keep it up mang
i agree about the snare but this actually has a lot of energy so i dont know what you talking about cbr ~_~

Re: Milla Tries Drum n' Bass
Uh I listen to A LOT of DnB. This has no energy and is way too sluggish lmfao
It's a "decent" song on its own but dear lord, don't classify this as DnB because its not. at all.
Here is some dubstep influenced DnB. Listen to that Energy and emotion.
Also dont take my comments negatively please. Lot of people, especially fellow producers can't handle CC. Up the speed. More umph.
More complex drum work and hi-hats and more variation and you got a nice song. The bass / kick is nice and juicy as always btwLast edited by Coolboyrulez0; 06-1-2012, 05:51 PM.Comment

The actual DnB section is 160bpm which I guess is a LITTLE slow for DnB but not that out of range. I don't see how this isn't DnB "at all."
Also its a preview so I'm still working on bassline patterns, and high end stuff to add to the energy...
EDIT: Also, ShockOne is awesome. Pendulum are making all these really good side projects like Knife Party and its really unfair.
EDIT2: Crucify Me, however, is a completely different style of DnB then my track and shouldn't be used as a comparison. I think most of the synths and melody structures in that song are generic, which is the opposite direction I usually go in when I make music.Last edited by midnghtraver; 06-1-2012, 05:54 PM.Comment

Re: Milla Tries Drum n' Bass
Listen again to your drums which lack hihats for the most part and are just a boring pattern and this. Or pretty much any other drum'n'bass song out there.
Just tryin' to help, brah. Take it or leave it. I did not enjoy this one, which knowing your track record, surprised me.
edit: even the noisia song has better hi-hat work.Last edited by Coolboyrulez0; 06-1-2012, 05:56 PM.Comment

, I had Noisia in my head this whole time.
EDIT: CBR, your issue with my cymbals might be less of a drum pattern problem and more of a mastering problem.Last edited by midnghtraver; 06-1-2012, 06:03 PM.Comment

Re: Milla Tries Drum n' Bass
Perhaps. Something in the breakdown doesnt sound right which causes it lose a lot of momentum that was built and it's not the kick / bass / snare.
Regardless, I also listen to plenty of Noisia and this is way too happy so far. Perhaps try a different melody if you are going more into that direction. Add strings and pads also. The mix is pretty empty.Comment

Re: Milla Tries Drum n' Bass
It was cool, but the speed just... doesn't do it... some thing about the electro work isn't your typical dnb either but again, I did like it, but calling it dnb... I don't know lmao but it is certainly better then my attempt at dnb:
(just a sort of comparison to show that your track isn't terrible)

Re: Milla Tries Drum n' Bass
Yours is more of sped up hiphop mixed with drill'n'bass, ormix.
@who_cares: nor does this. I'd MAYBE call it neurofunk which is a subDNB genre but it's not that either.Comment

Re: Milla Tries Drum n' Bass
Neurofunk sounds dope, I'm okay with neurofunk...
It's like Xilent's new album.Comment
