@OP: it's rather specific set of wallpapers and the database is not especially large (and probably overlaps with a bunch of your sites) but I quite like interfacelift's wallpaper collection. http://www.interfacelift.com

You will be more satisfied with one you make on your own though, no matter how bad it is. That's just how it works.

It's not conceited. There are 356089456045795460935608456 photoshop tutorials out there, it's not that hard. Plus you can literally make the PERFECT background to suit your mood instead of browsing through other people's (people who learned how to make their own, mind you) stuff.

I generally make things that I want into wallpapers, but I don't have the artistic talent to draw it from scratch.

Except I'm using these sites for SOURCE material. They have lots of high quality photos and they're just sweet to use. Because I already make my own wallpapers myself and still, that's prety rude to be answered "DIY" when you're asking for a bit of help, because that doesn't make anything better, sadly. (and hell, I already know that DIY philosophy a lot myself, because I began to make music, and perfect my photoshop skills for this very reason, it's quicker and the final result feels better once you're technically satisfied - but still there is a limit to what I can achieve for now)
I can't just buy an expensive camera and travel around the world to take pictures. I don't have this much time nor money

Or just gimme a site full of high quality photographies / source pictures (like, abstract or textures) or other things of some sort. I just want to find a wider variety of results for the research I'd make.
