I've fallen in love with the original all over again, and I can't wait for the US release. I'm too lazy to import, unfortunately.
I went to Best Buy today, to buy some CD-Rs and ask about the Wii. The media manager told me that they did not know how many systems they would have at launch... he gave me the wide range of 2-50. They ARE opening early for the launch, however... 8AM instead of the regular Sunday's 11AM. They are allowing people to camp, HOWEVER... they still can't tell me how they'll handle their systems. It may be lottery, or they might go right down the line. I have to keep checking in until I find out.
Oh, and B0NK, you can use more than $3 at a time... if you're not buying, and I quote, a "single CD, DVD, or Box Set."

I preordered Twilight Princess from Gamestop a long time ago, and now they've emailed me saying I can switch my preorder from the Gamecube version to the Wii version.
Should I switch?
The Wii one looks fun, but I kind of still want to play a regular 3D Zelda.
If you're planning to get a Wii, then yes. You should. They'll be the same storyline, but the Wii version will incorporate motion controls. Even if you put the Gamecube game into the Wii, you won't get those features.
Just got my latest NOM yesterday (Nintendo Official Magazine). They had an awesome line up this month. All the release games and games I didn't know about being released in Japan. Plus more in depth reviews about Zelda and Red Steel. I can't wait. Red Steel screenshots were awesome. There saying that basically everything is interactive. You can shoot just about everything and it effects something in some way. You can shoot guns out of peoples hands (we know this) but if you hurt a guys hand and he trys to pick the gun up with his other hand they become less accurate. You can even shoot the gun away from them when they try to pick it up to really scare them. You can shoot lights and water mains to the same consequence. You can duel wield weapons, guns and swords. I didn't think Red Steel could get any more awesome but it defiantly has. The above mentioned is only like one of the many new awesome features as well.
Wonder if you can play Goldeneye 007 from the N64 on the Wii, I really miss that game. The colors for the Wii look awsome so far and can't wait till I buy one!
In the latest bit of death by PR, GamePro has confirmed that Nintendo isn't finished telling us about the Wii. No, they still have anywhere from a "big Wii revelation" to a "couple of other surprises" to spring on us before the console is in our hot little hands.
What else is there >_>
Well, they have 20 more days to let us know.
Edit: Only thing I know they haven't revealed yet are the specs. Other than that... no idea. Price drop? =D
Basically says Best Buy is looking into getting ~100 Wii units per store (NO NEED TO WAIT IN LINE =D) and ... 0 ... PS3s.
It means Best Buy will be selling about 7.5% of the Wiis in North America, which sounds about right to me. It also means they will sell 0% of the PS3s. At least so far. The guy didn't find any records of Best Buy ordering any units.
It also goes on to say that Twilight Princess for Wii will be in stores several days sooner. Quite odd. It might cause some problems if they sell out of those before they even sell the console. That launch date coincides with several other sources I've seen, thus adding validity to this rumor.

Edit: Halfway through, and this is awesome. Two things immediately jumped out at me as "AWESOME" and an amazing idea by Nintendo. First was the "burn-in prevention". It's pretty common knowledge at this point that if you leave an image on a screen for too long, it will burn into the screen and stay there forever. Wii allows you to protect against that if you want. <3
Second is that the bar is customizable for the top and bottom, and it DOES make a difference. Setting for its location is in the menu. Oh, and Sensitivity settings.
I know that Nintendo hasn't revealed the details about the Wii, but are the graphics for the Wii most likely going to be similar to the 360 games at launch? I know many games won't look as good, but is it safe to say that that is what the best looking games for the Wii will look like?
The secret to your future lies hidden in your daily routine.
The reason most people fail instead of succeed is that they trade what they want most for what they want at the moment.
@Squeek: Games are supposed to launch a week or two before the console. I was surprised when I heard this from a GameStop employee, but you just confirmed it for me. Better preorder those games, guys, they'll go faster than the system! Don't get stuck with Wii Sports!
@dunlop: Consoles are NEVER at their peak at launch. Developers, including 1st Party, keep finding shortcuts, so to speak, that push the graphics further and further as the system's life continues. Compare Super Mario Bros. to Super Mario Bros. 3 to see what I mean.
