The best time is now. New AAA games are still fantastic. Indie games are incredible. Competitive multiplayer games are still doing fine. There is a game for anyone and everyone with like 20 different ways to play them.

This was the era when budget, graphics, and creativity reached an equilibrium. You could make a amazing game with fresh mechanics and good graphics for a few million dollars. Games like Tokyo Extreme Racer, Star Wars Battlefront, Devil May Cry, God of War, Pacman World 2, Every FF game that generation, Persona 4, and a ton of other games are good examples of this

The amount of "underrated" or unknown games from this generation is probably the highest I've seen of any gaming generation. I've been playing games from this generation since when I could hold a controller and I'm still finding great games I've never heard of or rediscovering games I played a long time ago

I was born during the 6th generation of consoles (the PS2 and the OG Xbox). Therefore, the 6th gen consoles are some of my favorites, but the PS2 is my all time favorite.

It was an era when the balance between graphics, budget and creativity was perfect. But now I notice that a lot of teenagers up to 15-16 years old play games on their phones. I have an example when the son of my friends, without even thinking about a PC or console, just downloads games or applications here in Google Play or App Store and that is enough for him. I have the impression that PCs will soon become unnecessary. Although it is funny, you need to work on something. In short, it is weird.

OOO games from that time are classics. I play them sometimes.
