I think just about anything can be the subject of a joke but people don't understand how jokes work and generally are idiots and make poor rape jokes

Xavier is great because it pokes fun in the right places. A rape joke that makes fun of a rape victim is not funny. A joke about rape that makes fun of rapists is more funny (case in point: the "the implication" joke in Its Always Sunny)

Jokes like this are true reflections of one's morality. Pretending that SJWs are banning jokes is disingenuous, we're just calling you out when you place the victim as the subject of ridicule.

comparing video games (or any interactive form) with children's television is stupid

the notion of "play" never fades in human development. the suggestion that the kind of play exhibited in Mario or pokemon is inferior to that of Halo because the aesthetic style or target audience is for younger people is completely without merit

yeah dude, you're right. mario and pokemon have great gameplay for an adult audience. there's nothing more thrilling than moving side to side and hitting a jump button, or battling animals using 1 of 4 prompts for attacks.

the gameplay is boring and i have no idea how anyone over 18 can actually find it fun. i never even said anything about aesthetic style. sorry for having a wrong opinion i guess?????

I could say similar things about how boring it is to aim a cursor and click on heads

that mode of interaction is not inherently more sophisticated than that of a platform or a jrpg

im not saying it objectively is or isn't. it's an opinion. i think it sucks and only kids would like it. that's the point of this thread. you'll never convince me otherwise. you could say venetian snares is not inherently more sophisticated than taylor swift. great, taylor swift still sucks though

you're saying certain genres of games are for kids, which I'd argue is objective and wrong (EG not an opinion). You can say you didn't like these genres of games as a kid but that just means you're weird.

megaman is infinitely more childish and also infinitely more for adults than mario is because of the trolly and terrible game design
these games aren't "for kids", they're "for everyone" and that means having attributes that allow for young'uns to enjoy them too. You're just too stuck on those to realize that games can be for more than one kind of person
