I also usually don't mention Photoshop unless I have a shortage of credits from gambling hall or if I decide to return back to FFR.

I'm more than capable of using my graphic design and typography/typesetting skill sets for profile making, I just don't give enough of a shit to bother doing them and I would find it boring and fairly pointless overall.

Why design for worthless virtual currency when I could be making real money and have my work and name being put out there, in addition to having solid professional portfolio pieces to use? I also subconsciously think that applying whatever knowledge and skill sets of Adobe Creative Suite I've learned from college goes to waste on abysmal things like FFR profiles, but that's just me as a professional graphic designer for a living. Obviously not a representation of what's correct or wrong—to each their own, do whatever you want.

If I may comment on this though (not to be taken in an offensive manner), this just seems terribly inefficient to me if it honestly took you 8 hours TBH, but I can understand you wanting to spend time with your "customer." But you should keep in mind that there is such a thing as spending too much time, which ultimately backlogs you from handling other tasks/jobs and losses on your end in terms of time (and money if applicable).

It's a nice trait to be a perfectionist, but don't let that overwhelm your overall efficiency with these kinds of things. Imagine if you were being paid real money from a client to do this and you only had a maximum allotted time of 2 hours to design it because that was their budget—anymore time spent on this is ultimately YOUR loss as a designer in both time and money. Time is money in the design business essentially.

Also more layers =/= better quality, that just makes your file a nightmare to browse through even if you do use a folder hierarchy for organization, rofl. I think the perfect phrase for this situation would be, "less is more."

If you're a professional graphic designer, that's really cool man. I don't personally see myself getting into that type of profession, but I do like to spend time with Photoshop when I start feeling creative or need credits. If anything, I think Photoshop is more of a hobby to me rather than some sort of profession. My popularity with PS stays within the realm of FFR. I guess it's like that since I didn't learn Photoshop until I returned to FFR (back in 2011ish or 2012). Also, most of the things I've learned about the program catered to creating FFR profiles. I am capable of creating other things (i.e. logos, graphics) but FFR is essentially where I picked up the skill. I'm not the best with Photoshop (and I'm sure you know a lot more about creating than I do), but I do like to share some of the tools that I took some time to learn on my own. I'm really not into it for the money or could care less if my name gets popular.

Also, I do understand that more layers + more time =/= a great product. I've made tons of things....and the first graphics I produced took a long time for me to make. I look back at them right now, and I say, "Oh, I could have probably done this much better." Right now, I could probably spend way less time I did before and still create something that looks decent (imo); however, I believe that there are other factors in why I would put more time into a certain product than others. (especially if I feel like I have a solid idea/something good that's going on). I like your advice a lot, and if you ever do get bored, I'd love to see some of your work. No offense was taken.
