Re: 10th Official FFR Tournament - Predictions Thread

                Here's my breakdown of D4:
                Shorthand: (T8 = Official Tournament #8, etc)

Note: I do not mean to offend anyone, but I'll call it as I see it
Note #2: The placement team did a very good job, and I don't really see people out of place like previous years. Just because I mention someone is *borderline* doesn't mean I beleive they should be bumped or knocked down.

25thhour - Here's someone who's been the distance before, placing op 8 in D3 in T7. Though not placing in the T8, 25ths got more time and experience now to make a run at D4. With near SDG's on 70's from the start, I would expect 25thhour to make top 8 or better.

alster1 - While he may be overlooked, as many people who are not active on the forums are, alster1 has many teens on FMOs landing pretty much middle of the pack in D4 from the outset. I don't predict a top 8 finish, however I leave myself open to be proven wrong.

Becky8 - A very consistant player here, with 650+ AAA's and a 63 locked away, she (I assume) has not played the FMO range nearly as much and 65's and lower in her ranks. With great JS ability (14-0-0-1 on AA), she will do well if the charts feature jumpstream, but may have to pick up skill on other techniques. *Possible dark horse candidate*

ce1545 - Needs major improvement in order to be a top placer, based on level ranks. Other than an amazing score on party 4u (how the hell did you do that), I would ce1545 as borderline D3/D4 as a player who has difficulties staying consistant in the low 60's range charts.

clasko1000 - While someone who is 2 boos from ONI would seem like top candidate, the chart in question is Within Life, and I would only personally rank that a 62. Don't get me wrong, clasko1000 is a good player with a handful of low FMO SDG's, but the scores drop off quite quickly when speed is put to the test. I would guess top 16.

danceflashrevo - Oh, I love competing against my friend and quasi-rival danceflashrevo. But as of late I think his game's been a little over mine. We have similar skill sets, with consistent jacking and stream ability up to a certain BPM, but lacking in jump or handstream skills. The thing is, danceflashrevo has been improving his weakness faster than I've been covering my own. He is certainly a contender for top 8, and will likely edge me out at some point this tournament.

DarkManticoreX2 - While consistant in the low 60's, I would still consider DarkManticoreX2 on the lower side of D4 due to the lack of notable FMO scores. Much improvement would be needed to make it in the later rounds.

DarkProdigy - With an impressive 725+ AAA's, consistancy is not a problem on slower patterns. Where DarkProdigy falls behind is in speed. A lack FMO scores again means it's likely DarkProdigy may survive the first round or two, but succumb to faster patterns. This is a another borderline D3/D4 case.

Dark_Chrysalis - with SDG's as high as a 70, Dark_Chrysalis has a good chance of making it far in D4. Looks like a consistant player on many different types of patterns, I'd look for Dark_Chrysalis to make the later rounds of T10.

dashoe93 - This position is a very tough spot to be in. As a newcomer to D4, dashoe93 would have to fight his way from the bottom of the pack to win. Dashoe93 is certainly an underdog in T10.

Destroy2777 - While Destroy2777 has decent speed for D4, a certain lack of consistancy I beleive wil hold him out of the top 16 without major improvement. Not a bad player by any means, but Destroy2777 lacks the FMO SDG's that several other players have.

dha - If nothing else, this player has speed. Dha managed to get teens on 'Fried Eggs In My Ear,' and that is the kind of speed which could survive D4 with

dragon890x - Another player with quite a bit of speed, including 20's on Distortion Power, and a couple FMO SDGs. Top 8 material, definately on the higher end of D4.

funmonkey54 - With a pair of low 60 SDG's, funmonkey54 is debatably D4 and is right on that D3/D4 threshold. Funmonkey54 would need major improvement to place.

Furry - This is the type of Dark horse player that tends to win tournaments. They are little known and have few games played, but there are warning signs. Seeing 20's on mid 70's with only one or two attempts shows there is room for improvement. Look out for Furry.

gattsta - If you ever want to ascertain the current skill of a player, look at a chart that just came out. Gattsta landed 30's in a single attempt on 'My Love Is A Bulldozer,' which showcases his speed. His other ranks don't show this level of speed, so he may be an unexpected contender with practice.

Ghost_Medley - is a new addition to D4, as the other new D4ers, would need much improvement to contend. This doesn't mean the newcomers couldn't skillboost and win, but it's not very like from low D4. Noteable scores are SDG's on Within Life and Gynandromorph, which both feel like 62's to me.

gstarfire - Low D4 with a SDG on Within Life. I don't think it's a coincidence that so many people only have SDG's on Within Life and Gynandromorph I shouldn't even consider them FMOs. Anyways, would also need much improvement to place.

HK_KrAz3 - While consistant on the VC charts, HK_KrAz3 lacks accuracy on FMOs. Will probably get to about round 3 without improvement.

Hurleyisgod - Not a lot of gameplays here, but one very notable score - 11g 'Guilde of the Rime King.' Could be a dark horse candidate, without enough FMO gameplays to make a good judgement.

ICrazyI - Not a whole lot of notable scores except 2g 'Stark Raving Mad,' which beats the hell out of mine and scares me. While one good score doesn't make a contender in most cases, it makes me wonder how much the other ranks could be improved. Doesn't seem like enough recent plays at that level o judge.

Infernalgate_Zach - Seems like a mid-level D4 player on the edge of contending with high D4. With 20's on stepfile this, Infernalgate_Zach's speed shows, but the ranks show a lack of consistency. Could contend with careful practice.

Jontrollsddr - This joker is always a contender when he is playing seriously. After his prior Hijinx, I have trouble taking him seriously, even though he is a very tough, high D4 competitor. In my experience, he's always been as good as he's wanted to be.

Josetsz - Low D4 player, but not borderline. On the charts that play to Josetsz's strengths, he does well, like low teens on Toki. But a lack of consistency over many types of charts leave him likely to be eliminated before the top 16.

Jungels112 - A 'Procrastination' AAA and 'Vertex Beta' BF shows strong skill, but few other scores are noteable. Truly a mystery contender because no other scores match up to those two score's level.

junky1 - with over 800 AAA's consistency is not an issue, though speed may be.
junky1 reminds me of TheSunFan's old scores, which were very consistent in speeds which he could handle, but the scores fell off quickly as the chart became dense. That consistency can be dangerous with a bit of speed practice.

kaypooma - With a few FMO teens, kaypooma has the ability of a mid D4 player, but seems to lack consistancy over varied charts. I would predict a middle of the pack finish.

keyslayer101 - A Blue Noah AAA is no small feat, but combine that with 2g 'choprite' and 4g radio heads and you have a serious high D4 contender. A sloppy SDG of Club shows a good jacking ability, and teens on 'Setsujou! Hyakka Ryouran!' and FFLBF show a good JS ability and stamina as well. I predict a top 8 finisher in keyslayer101.

LeftyRighty - is arguably D3, with 11g on a 62 and some sloppy 30's on a few FMOs. Most charts show a lack of consistancy for D4, borderline at best.

ll sephirothll - 'Monstrous Turtles!' AAA is noteable for stream ability but the other scores are seemingly lacking, considering there are almost no SDG's above 60. Probably got the score index and I don't see other scores backing up the D4 placement, borderline at best.

M0nkeyz - A mid level contender for D4, who just barely edged me out in the timebomb tournament because I'm terrible at the chart Flamingo. M0nkeyz lacks the FMO SDGs of High D4 but shows an ability to improve throughout a tournament.

MarcusHawkins - While the ice disk AAA makes him D4 along with some decent FMO scores, he lacks the raw speed many of the top competitors already have. Placing would be an uphill battle for MarcusHawkins.

MarioNintendo - Borderline D4 player with some low 60 SDG's. Would need a large skill improvement to place.

Masquerade of Shadow - has some very consistant scores in the VC range, including many SDG's. However, a general lack of speed and consistency on FMOs still puts Masquerade of Shadow in the lower half of D4.

masterzatwork - Could be a dark horse contender here, considering 13-3-0-5 of Dreadnought [Heavy] that shows a level of skill not shown in the rest of the level ranks. Is masterzatwork capable of that level of play on charts challenging a variety of skillsets? We'll see. I predict a middle of the pack finish.

Meatyguy - Has a low 60's SDG which technically makes him D4, but his FMO scores are too sloppy for consideration without massive improvement.

MracY - An almost certain top 8 finisher with plenty of level ranks to back it up. With multiple teens and SDG's running into the low-mid 70's, MracY is a top tier D4 player.

RARAWR - A mid D4 level player with some nice teens scores on low FMOs. Would need to skillboost to reach the level of the top contenders, but RARAWR has shown the ability to improve quickly in the past.

runescapedude1126 - With a vertex beta AAA and For FFR SDG, runescapedude1126 is a solid D4 player that is not to be underestimated. He does. however, lack many games played in the FMO range. He may lack the consistency to score well on varied FMO charts.

Shiki. - Solid D4 through and through. While not all the level ranks show it, there are some mid 20's on low 70 difficulty charts that show the real skill Shiki. displays. Don't underestimate Shiki., or this next competitor ....

Shouka - is a tough competitor in any tournament and always seems to be able to improve scores. Shouka has also been D4 for the past three tournament, and has a lot of experience in the division. While Shouka lacks the scores on low 70's that some high D4 players have, don't count Shouka out as a contender.

sickufully - has some nice scores, especially a 1 miss 'All I want to do is touch your powerpoints,' but is a new addition to D4 and lacks the speed and accuracy of the top or mid players. Massive improvement would be needed to place top 8.

sonicsp33d - another Within Life D4 SDG, many sonicsp33d's other scores are borderline. Sonicsp33d does have some semi-clean FMO FC's, there would be a long way to go to win.

t0ni - does have that many charts played, which makes it harder to judge a player's skill. However, I do see 2g on For FFR and a BF on Novo Mundo. While those are very nice scores, it's hard to judge a person's skillset without many games played. Probably a middle of the pack D4'er.

TheSaxRunner05 - Well, what can I say? I have improved quite a bit over the last year, but still lack JS ability and tricky technical songs like flamingo throw me for a loop. I lack the speed and stamina currently to be a high D4 player. I do excel in consistency of jack patterns and charts that do not require a long stretch of streams. I'm hoping for top 16, maybe even top 8 *crosses fingers*

TheThong - has a history of historic skill jumps from D1 in T6. While some 20's on low FMOs certainly make TheThong D4, there would need serious improvement, as TheThong has done before, to contend for a top spot.

Toonzy - has several SDG's on 60's and a 61, but generally lacks speed, stamina, and technique to suceed in D4. Toonzy would do well in D3, and is certainly a borderline player. I'm sure it was a difficult placement call to make.

Totakeke703 - 36-4-0-8 on Over the Ocean shows mid level D4 speed, but it's difficult to find another comparable score. Totakeke703 is probably low-mid D4 and would need copious practice to place top 8, and will more likely land in the middle of the pack.

Toxophilis - is a mid D4 player I've had the pleasure of competing against. Our abilities as mid D4 players are close and similar, and I look forward to competing against Toxophilis again.

trumaestro - has some good scores, like 30's on piano x forte x scandal. Trumaestro is a likely top 16 finisher who could go all the way with practice and determination.

v0lcom - has some low 60's SDG's but lacks consistency even below the FMO category. v0lcom is low D4 and would need much improvement to place.

Viisbyxa - I'm glad to see you back. Anyways, Viisbyxa was formerly a one handed player (if I'm not mistaken) and gained a skill boost when swiching to spread. Always a dexterous competitor, Viisbyxa may be still adjusting to spread and could potentially land a skill boost during this event. Currently, however, I would say Viisbyxa is low D4.

xBBx Takedown - SDG of Battle Theme #37 shows a judicious amount of speed and technique that aren't quite shown in his other level ranks. He's a solid D4 competitor. While I wouldn't pick him to win, he could top 8 with improvement.

Zerkrome - Zerkrome has some very impressive high VC SDG's, and mostly clean scores on most low FMO's. Zerkrome struggles a bit with jumpstream, but could still be a serious contender in mid-high D4.

Remember I am not counting anyone out, or saying that person X or Y will surely win by any means. I'm just setting the stage for where people were as it began.

Best AAA = Aballava(?) + Serious Shit (97)
Best SDG = Fushigi Usagi Milk Tei 8-0-0-3 (101)
                  Best Score = do i smile? 3-0-0-3 (100)

Wow, that's great. I would love to see this from you on all Divisions

Okay I seriously don't know who's going to win D6, so I'll just say who I'm going to watch out for.

If these guys stay with it and actually try, I think they could easily take the top spots. Might of forgotten some people, but I'm also really excited to see the people who skill boost the most.
