being stalked and being attacked are two completely different things

being stalked is not as concrete a reason for self defense AND it's hard to prove
being attacked is a concrete reason for self defense AND it's easy to prove

simple as that, and the evidence won through

in addition, the map shows that trayvon was stalked for a WHOLE STREET wow!! that's some serious stalking before you attack somebody

My point is the stand-your-ground law that Zimmerman's lawyers invoked.

I'll agree there is evidence that he attacked first. With Florida's so-called "Stand Your Ground" laws and any criminal stalking laws, I don't think a scot-free result is fair.

Then why isn't the beef with Florida prosecutors for failing to make a compelling case for guilt? In both cases there was simply not enough evidence for a conviction, even if both defendants were guilty as sin.

In both trials the jury came to a verdict based on the evidence and arguments provided, as they should; they beef shouldn't be with them.

fucked up but, you know, probably the right decision. there was no chance in hell this guy was getting murder 2 from the beginning. manslaughter i don't know enough about to make any sort of qualified judgment but i mean self-defense is never murder, even if you're probably a racist creepy dude who semi-instigated the attack that needed to be self-defended from

the thing that really bothers me about this case, other than an unarmed kid dying of course, is zimmerman's entirely mutable race

the dude is clearly hispanic to me idk like i'm not trying to exonerate white people entirely but i feel like it's obvious that if he was the victim in a case like this we would not be seeing this "white hispanic", "uhh sorta white!" type shit. in a way i see how some people might consider it a necessity to shine light on systematic fucking-over of minorities by our legal system but i don't like the idea that these things are entirely contingent on the conclusions we wish to draw. he's hispanic or he's not; we wouldn't see this kind of middling shit were he not an apparent extremity of white supremacy in america

^^Obviously not. If Trayvon were white, the media wouldn't give a shit and conservatives (not saying all conservatives, just the outspoken ones) would choose him to side with. EXCEPT THE MEDIA WOULDN'T GIVE A SHIT SO WHO WOULD KNOW HAHAHAHA.

Also, based on statistics, he would've been arrested without much of a court case.

He's blatantly not white, and I don't think race should have ever been a factor.

If it was reversed, he wouldn't even be given much of a trial (unless he's rich like OJ).

I see now. She fleed from the husband and then later returned with a gun and shot at him after not being in danger. It was attempted murder even though she failed.

Has nothing to do with self defense. Was a terrible article.
