Comparing osu to other rhythm games with similar scoreboard ranking systems I realise that all these tend (?) to happen just because of how convenient osu is
-Scoreboard updates real time
-Easy to see whos online and what they are playing
-Being notified of lost rank #1s
-Able to see someone's new rank #1s
-In game spec/pm/chat/activity
-osu!direct, you can immediately download a map you don't have when speccing someone
-Toooooo many ranked songs ingame, the best players can't afford to whore unbeatable scores for every single song
~and indirectly affecting all these, that the drama is happening among players of similar skill levels

I don't play osu (..much) so I don't have much say and won't feel what people here goes through but yes; it feels bad when someone you know sups your score right after you play it. However, do we have the right to tell him/her not to play the map? Is he specifically targeting you or just randomly playing songs? Where do we draw the fine line? We have drama like this in any game practically but why so much in the 135 pages of this thread? Everytime I enter this thread I feel its like me entering a shop full of delicate China porcelain while carrying a hugeass rucksack with a pole sticking out

No I'm not trying to come in with the holier-than-thou attitude; I've done the same things before (and may still do it, though unintentionally) but, again why so much conflict specifically in this thread? It seems like some vicious cycle now. This post won't fix things, but I'd like to know more why all this is happening

Though I guess at the end of the day, it seems like how each individual perceives things. Just try to enjoy the game..

Because you were the one who were all like "o0o0o you should never steal your friends rank #1 and if you do, that it is wrong" bullshit. If I were to go out of my way and steal a rank 1 score from you before this conversation, you would be bitching just like Zyph.

You were even the one who were like "I would never do anything to upset a friend" and yet you pull this shit off to Zyph. Some "friend" you are even after he tried apologizing to you. I, at least, went out of my way to change my ways just for you and Zyph not to get so pissed off at me but now that I see that you are doing the same shit to Zyph, why the fuck should I care what you have said to me? Have you ever wondered why my pp got worse and worse? It was mainly for you and Zyph. I stopped trying to play competitively and just played for my own personal achievements which is the reason why you do not even see much of my ranked scores. Those "ranked" scores that you see on my profile are just scores I got from random plays.

I guess you did not think about that but I expect that from you. Also, good job thinking that i was trying to boost my ego when I really was not. If you think that I am trying to "boost my ego" then wait until you see my real plays. I am a lot better then you think I am believe me.

EDIT: Actually, the best way to solve this whole issue really is to not listen to you anymore and play the game how I want regardless if what you and anyone think.

It is you who do not understand. You said to me back then that you would not ever do anything like that to a friend and yet you do that shit to Zyph. That issue affected me because I remember how fucking pissed off you were when I once stole one of Zyph's rank 1 scores and yet when you do something that affected Zyph, YOU DIDN'T GIVE A SHIT. Not only that, he tried making up with you even after you pulled that shit on him and you did not even care. This is the main reason why I am done listening to you.

I do not care if you (or anyone else) do not give a fuck about my skill, I am just saying that I have been holding it back UNTIL RECENTLY. I guess you have problems reading.

I'm still trying to learn this game; it's really goddamn hard. I'm also terrible at Taiko, despite spending a lot of time wasted trying to learn it.

I can play osu!mania pretty alright, although the space-bar is a killer for me.
