Wow, talk about loopholes.
Agree with this. It's the state supreme court ruling, after all, but I'd rather have him follow the letter of the law in this manner and get sentenced than let him walk on a technicality.
So let him watch his kiddie porn so that justice may be served. I'm totally okay with this kind of trade-off.

Re: 'Suspected' Pedophile allowed to watch CP in jail
At first on reading the topic I thought this would be something totally ridiculous and unfair, but it's actually pretty reasonable. The videos are evidence, and he's his own attorney, and attorneys always need to have free access to the evidence. The guy's clever for having thought of the loophole, but it's just an unintended consequence that there's no way to fix. IMO, it's absolutely essential to allow lawyers access to the evidence of the case, even if said evidence is disgusting or offensive - so, realistically, this loophole needs to remain in place.
And hey, as silly as this might seem right now, in the big picture it's a good thing - there is NO WAY he's going to get out of this with that much video (some of which he personally filmed), and his case would get even more impossible if he was found "enjoying" the videos before the trial.

The only thing he could technically do is destroy all the evidence he has, tapes, dvds, etc., and then they would never know if he actually "committed" these alleged acts. He'd get a slap on the wrist for tampering with evidence (theoretically) or possible jail time, maybe more.
