Head over to the FFR Batch Forum for all the details on how you can get your file into the game. The Artist Permissions forum section will help you find out if FFR has permission to use the song your file goes with.
I've been playing a lot of O2 Jam lately, and I can see now the allure of solo to stepfile artists even though solo is 6 keys compared to the 7 in O2 Jam. I think I might try stepping some solo files.
The only reason I don't really play solo is I use bboys mod, which is mapped to player 2. This means I can only have one set of keys if I want to be able to use the arrows to scroll (I really do being on a laptop) and I'm too lazy to switch to something else unless Pastapiggy releases his bboys conversion to single player >.>
Edit: I had a question -- do you recommend that I change my cmod to something slower/faster than what I use for singles? I know its probably a preference thing, but I didn't know if there was some sort of general idea to follow regarding that.

Solo = Fun
Go start playing solo, after a few days when you can read a bit better and do songs, it's super fun. I personally play solo because there are (almost) no vibrating files, when playing 4 key trying to get better I ALWAYS wind up just playing vibrating stuff, which only helps my vibrating, which doesn't need work on compared to my other stuff at all. Playing solo helped me get better at reading and jumpstream and all that stuff I sucked at, regardless I still suck at it, just not as much -_-
Anyway, great thread, go start playing solo.
Edit: Oh and one more thing, we need smo solo meetups.

There is no general rule, but it's recommended that you generally stick to slower mods until you get more comfortable, then pick up speed as normal until you've found something you liked. Or perhaps you might like a super slow cmod with solo, and that's fine too.
Just do what you did to find your optimal cmod when playing singles.
Well, this is a humbling experience. I got the 92 solo pack and well I can't pass anything on solo. Is there an easier pack or another way I could practice this 6 button layout. i can read it but yeah its hard ^_^ After reading your last comment, I am going to try lowering the cmod.
tora's solo charts are an easy way to start. but for the love of god NEVER PLAY AUTO GENERATED CHARTS. This is what ODI was for. Get decent files before trying to get good.
yeah I tried solo but one of the song packs i downloaded was extremely difficult for me especially for my first time. I would love to get better and im sure id play your stepcharts if you made them. xD
