    breakman, DDR uses every panel that PIU doesn't use. PIU uses every panel DDR doesn't use. There's no way you can use the same mat for both unless you get some sort of third-party pad that has a sensor on every panel in the 9-square grid.
    The pad that comes with PIU Exceed includes the DDR buttons in order to scroll through the menus. But the sensors are way too small to play ddr though because of the pump arrows being so big. And PIU is my recommendation due to the fact that since I started playing PIU, I hardly ever went back to DDR/ITG (I still play them sometimes). The music is way better, the steps more well crafted, and it will keep you occupied for a LONG TIME.
