I've had the red rings once, right after the first time I tried to connect it online. Lucky for me, it was only a few days after the warranty had expired and they let me exchange it for free. I have had one act up internally without the red rings. Would constantly get "Disc Unplayable: Clean the disc then reinsert it into the tray." Or something along those lines. That one was also covered under warranty. The current one I've had about a year. Nothing so far.

I had this right before I got the rings....My 360 had Alzheimer's.

hmm i've gotten the red rings twice on the same system, it still works fine, once every 3 or 4 months it will give me that disc unreadable thing, i just resart the system and whipe the disc and it works fine again. the red rings never seemed to bother me, it didn't cripple my console or anything.

360 sucks in terms of reliable hardware.

I thought they fixed the problem with the Elites so that it rarely happens to them? :S
