Re: TWG CXV - Game Voting~
I haven't played a game without night posting in a long time but I vaguely remember it being referred to as night talking, meaning you couldn't communicate at night through any medium.Originally posted by j-rodd123wowComment

Re: TWG CXV - Game Voting~
That's dumb, because it's essentially unenforceable and ripe for abuse, it can essentially give you the power to suicide bomb other players. This sort of thing never happened when I got into and it doesn't seem like it happened at all historically. During my tenure, all night posting off did was force everything to be on AIM, for the purpose of boosting activity therein, along with the stuff I mentioned before.
The thing about the manner of play back then (which is helpful to understand) is that outside communication that wasn't between wolves/masons was very strongly focused on 1v1 conversations. Communal chats weren't used very much, and when they did exist, you were lucky to find half the players on them. Furthermore, the events of the day were very useful points for discussion during the night, and as this was when the night choices were made, good townies would often play a little gambit with their views on things. For example, I remember someone discussed BSing people they viewed with suspicion after a lynch they saw as shitty, selected someone they trusted as an "anchor" to reveal their true feelings on the matter, and also picked someone they were unsure of to reveal their insights to. They also told that they did so to their anchor, so that if they died that night, the anchor could perhaps pressure that person if they thought they were a spooked wolf. This is just one example, but interpersonal plays like this went on all the time in old TWG.
Anyways, I'm rambling.
Any official feelings on the night posting matter, or other things about my game? < This goes for everyone else too.~ OFFICIALLY RETIRED FROM FFR THE GAME AND FFR TWG ~

I know I just started, but out of thread seems wrong? Night talking seems fine, as long as there isn't any scheming or voting.Originally posted by thesunfanabsolutely I want to vomit on your face irlOriginally posted by choofIt was like trying to throw logic at a fuckin brick wall lmaoOriginally posted by choofwhats more dense, a black hole or an icyworld fileOriginally posted by CelirraI've never been so disappointed by a man from Alabama than I am right nowComment

Re: TWG CXV - Game Voting~
Yeah, this was way before your time. The standard format of games was "outside communication allowed + no cardflips" for the vast majority of FFR TWG's history. It's only within the last 1.5 years or so that people suddenly decided to be MafiaScum lite.
And obviously, there is no voting at night. But there is always scheming. All OC does is let you share some of that scheming and/or act it out earlier than normal.
I've already explained why people do it, although in this particular game, I will cede that I'm not sure it really makes sense.

I'm calling for a popular vote on whether to allow night posting or not (and if my game doesn't run, I'll just apply that change and run it in the next signups)~ OFFICIALLY RETIRED FROM FFR THE GAME AND FFR TWG ~

uh, honor code - it may be up for abuse but what's the point of not letting people talk in the thread if they could say what they would in the thread over chat? That's dumb.Originally posted by j-rodd123wowComment

You could try actually reading my posts, for one, if you're looking for a point.
And yes, I realize people aren't going to agree on the value of the mechanic. It's subjective. That's why I opened it up for a vote in the first place.
I mean you've already extended your middle finger in my general direction by using sheer starpower to get a (mostly) TGBuddy rushvote that's already knocked me out of first. I'm not sure what you have to gain by antagonizing me further.
Then again, I could just be paranoid (as comes with the territory.)~ OFFICIALLY RETIRED FROM FFR THE GAME AND FFR TWG ~

uh, I didn't ask people to vote for my game and I'm not antagonizing you I'm saying that preventing players from talking in the thread to 'increase activity in chat during night phases' literally makes no sense. You could try actually reading my posts, for one, if you're looking for a point.

debating increasing or decreasing the roster to prevent unnecessary night phase kill and instead start on a day phase.
13 - harder for wolves, extra day phase.
11 - same difficulty.Originally posted by j-rodd123wowComment
