And from the perspective of normal osu! I would get it, but not implementing it for osu!mania is beyond me since every major 4key rhythm game supports it.
For me it's a complete dealbreaker and has even led me to need to decline playing with IRL friends because they play osu!mania, the only rhythm game I cannot play. Which is insane, I cannot play at the beginner level of osu!mania, despite being a high Division 5 player!!!

The refusal to even look at it and waving it away as skill issues, bad fixes to latency and other excuses when every major 4key rhythm game EXCEPT osu!mania implements it is so insane to me.
