=I think this song could be trimmed down, as it is it feels too drawn out.
=13.142s: The inconsistent column changes feel odd for PR without anything in the audio to justify it.
==Similar cases are the jump on 15.555s, and 17.107s switching between columns 2 and 4.
=14.004s: Jump maybe?
- if so, there should also be one at 15.038 and 17.796.
=18.314s & 21.073: If you're using hands in the buildup these two notes would benefit from being hands.
=18.314s: The use of jumps ending this buildup feels like too much.
- agree. There is practically no change to the synth sound, but they suddenly go from singles to jumps--this is way too much.
- 21.417: Synth transitions to percussion, but uses the same two columns.
=22.107s: The use of minijacks is very erratic in these streams.
==With how inconsistent the noises to warrant minijacks are, it might be better to use them sparingly or to avoid them and use something like anchored patterns to compliment the audio. This note can be applied through the whole file since minijacks appear frequently.
=43.142s: I like the focus on the off-beat noise here. Only note is couple of these notes are a 96th or 192nd early.
=44.521s: I was expecting you to start using jumps on the kick following the last measure, but you don't employ it until 66.590s.
- to add on to this: the music does intensify at 66.590s, so ramping up the layering there does make sense. However, it makes much more sense to do this by following an element that actually comes in at 66.590s rather than arbitrarily starting to follow a beat that has been present for the last 20 seconds.
=47.711s: These jumps are used pretty inconsistently.
- for example, you don't use them at 50.469 / 50.641 or 53.227 / 53.400, but you use them again at 55.124 etc.
=54.956s: Long one-handed trills like these do not play well.
=67.624s: Ironically this section introduces a sound that *could* warrant minijacks, but the existing minijack patterning drowns it out.
=88.314s: It would make more sense if these were single notes instead of hands to compliment the intro.
- another big agree here--hands are also just way too much for this sound in general. The switch to jumps at 93.831 doesn't make much sense either.
=99.866s: Could have a note here to lessen the empty space between the two sections.
=109.866s: This small pattern can use some variation.
- agree: this is cute where the sound does repeat (e.g. the first two iterations can stay) but it's not exactly the same sound over and over again, so the pattern should change to match that
=132.452-149.004s: I enjoy the concept of having the kick charted to the left column, but in practice it might not be a good idea.
- I think this is alright, but in the beginning of this section where it's basically just the kick you may want to do something like periodically switching between columns 1 and 4 just to add a touch of variety. Up to you.
=158.314s: This shift to hands in this buildup seems unnecessary.
- 168.486: Not a minijack.
- 176.245: Particularly gnarly pattern, and there's not much of a reason for it.
=187.538s: Minitrills like the one found here are a serious spike and should be avoided. (Other cases at 198.572s, 210.900s, 232.969s)
- I don't think the one at 210.900s is really an issue because it's two-handed. The reason the others are bad and spiky is because they are one-handed trills and these are much more difficult to hit. You should still keep the entries to the trills pretty clean if you use these, though; for example if you keep the trill at 232.969 you should move 232.883 to column 1.
- 196.934: This is also pretty nasty on the right hand. Happens a couple more times, e.g. 231.417.
- 201.590: These jacks are pretty spiky and kinda come out of nowhere.
=240.038s: Keeping focus on the drums even as they fade into the background seems odd.
- To add on to this, you have the perfect opportunity to switch to the synth at 240.555; that is the point at which the synth really starts dominating the drums, and they also line up perfectly. You could have the last note at 241.590 and fade out from there.
=245.555s: This echo is not on the 8ths, I think the rhythm is closer to 7/32?
