Wiosna passed on this particular submission and deferred judgment to me for this one.

TC_Halogen - 5/10
- the sync on this isn’t quite right; fixing an earlier offset doesn’t resolve a later sync issue that causes the chart to be a bit on the earlier side (gets as far off as about 14ms)
- minijack usage at times is rather strange; sometimes it’s employed well for the purpose of accenting, but other times it just kinda feels a bit arbitrary
- 12.871: while I understand *what* is being followed here, the bigger question is why it’s done in this way when these instruments collide earlier
- 14.735: given your sudden shift towards accenting the upper melody with 8th jumps, this note feels a bit too prominent to be ignore with respect to being jumps
- 16.082: not the best of pattern choices for this particular jack here; it creates a three-note anchor, but also arguably has the accent out of place (it might look/play a bit better with the 8th note being repeated instead)
- 19.086: with minijacks being used for the purpose of pacing in your chart (and basically being bass kicks in general), utilizing them for a melody which doesn’t really have repetitive notes is a bit erroneous
- 29.549: feels like there should be a second jump when the snare is a primary point of accent throughout your structure
- 33.071: not sure why this jump is here, but not at other instances where either the melody or the particular percussive accent plays; it just feels out of place
- 43.188: this burst doesn’t really correspond to anything
- 45.864: remove
- 46.537: not entirely sure what’s going on here
- 54.930: just mistimed in general
- 57.727: these triples feel out of place, and even moreso when the release of the white noise happens at 58.038 (your 4th note is likely where a triple should go)
- 1:02.907: missing jump according to your structure
- 1:03.010: these two measures are a good showcase of the structure being a bit on the convoluted side; accenting melodies with jumps in this song is quite difficult because there’s multiple layers to it, putting you in a situation where your chart structure struggles to really identify things musically
- 1:07.983: structural consistency noticeably degrades here; missing notes for melodies, percussive accents seem to go in and out, gaps start to show when instruments are playing
- 1:15.131: sequence of notes actually continues past this point and runs all the way to the next 4th, but the next note after this is arguably quiet -- however, you should still at the least be adding a note at 1:15.286
- 1:18.653: missing note
- 1:18.808: ghost note
- 1:19.792: where’s the 64th accent that you did a measure ago?
- 1:23.884: ghost note
- 1:24.531: missing note
- 1:25.075: should be 16ths
- 1:28.494 to 1:48.383: the omission of jumps for kicks unless they come right before a snare is an interesting touch, though you need a jump at 1:28.701; not a fan, but I respect the approach
- 1:50.041: why jacks here?
- 1:55.430: while the earlier jump accents at 1:54.187 are a bit more passable since the notes are a fair bit longer, the sudden influx of jumps here feels a bit less relevant to the music
- 2:03.511: this jump should probably be removed as well
- a lot of the same issues are pretty frequently occurring, so I won’t bring them up with specific timestamps any further - get a handle on what you want to accent and ensure that it’s done consistently, both with your layering structure and your minijack usage
- 2:12.419: this is a bit of an overaccent as percussion still continues on; if you want that heavy triple accent, you can arguably maintain it for the triples at 2:13.145 and 2:13.352
- 2:15.007: this is a misrhythm for what you’re trying to follow in the percussion
- 2:18.840: triple doesn’t fit nicely here compared to some earlier accents, just kinda follows along the path of not really having well defined accenting in the structure
- 2:19.047: minijacks can’t really be justified here as there’s no repeated percussion and the notes are clearly different -- though at the least the patterning decision is intelligent
- 2:21.948: there’s a missing percussion note just after this 4th (might be a 48th?)
- 2:31.271: very clearly a missing note here
- 2:31.685: 32nds are too fast for what you’re following here
- 2:45.152: your [UR] and [LD] usage disproportionately increases compared to the rest of the jumps at the start of the section
- 3:06.699: should be 24ths
- 3:13.691: missing note
- 3:22.393: that 32nd stream that you kick off a bit later in the next measure actually starts right around here (it’s a bit fragmented), but transitions back to 24ths on the 4th note at 3:22.859 (it doesn’t stay that way either, check your rhythms)
- 3:23.688: 24ths here as well
- 3:31.716/3:31.924: ghost notes
- this chart’s pretty structurally unstable; it has a lot of difficulty deciding exactly what accenting points that it wants to take
